QuoteGulfstream Endura...

With the duramax turbo diesel 300hp / 520lbf-ft.  Allison 5spd auto tranny on the GM Kodiak chassis.  You won't find another class C like it...  10,000lb towing capacity (while WET!).

Coming to Kufalk media March, 2005.....

Now THAT is sweet!  Is this the only class C with a diesel?

They have that same model Endura here at a local motorhome dealer in Rockford, Illinois. I went and checked it out, but the $100,000 price tag is a bit expensive for me right now! :o

QuoteI like the amphibious motorhome.  Perfect for when the Buxtons ot Team Stumpy need to go to Gingerman or Grattan.
I wonder what it would cost to insure a motorhome that can sail across open water?

Honey, I sank the motor coach.... :o

Whaaa Haaaa Haaaa Haaa!!!!!

Oh my!  I was thinking the same thing!   ;D

ooooo scary isn't it!

Quote         RV laws are very vague and I was not up to speed on their general requirements until this last week. I was going to put a living quarter in my next trailer so I could get an RV plate, but found out that an RV can't legally transport anything (like a motorcycle or car). This is why the toyhauler type trucks and trailers can't legally be driven in Illinois with RV plates. Though the weights that would normally require a CDL in Illinois don't apply to true RV's (trucks or trailers), you still have to have the vehicle inspected every 6 months and any driver must carry a medical card. So many laws that so many people are unaware of that can result in your vehicle being held until it is legal to drive (such as needing to be inspected).

I wonder how they would treat the FunMover which is a specifically built Class C RV to haul motorcycles?

Dawn, I was very curious about that very subject too, since I had been told by an RV place that you could haul bikes in a funmover with an RV plate.

Both the Illinois State Police and the Secretary of State Police departments that I have spoken with were without a doubt in agreeance that you could not haul anything other than that which is considered normal for recreational use with any RV plate. They both stated that hauling anything like a motorcycle is considered a product (even though you technically are using it for recreation) and requires a non-RV plate to be legal. They both mentioned also that just because the salesman says that you can transport a 'product' with an RV plate doesn't make it legal and that many people come to them complaining that they were told otherwise by the salesman before they bought the RV (usually finding this out after being ticketed or warned for hauling a 'product' with an RV plate).

I was led to believe by both Police departments that just because an RV is capable of hauling a 'product' it doesn't mean that you can do it legally with an RV plate. I am still curious were the line is drawn as far as what is considered a 'product' and is considered used for recreation, but I didn't inquire further due to this not being the direction I was looking to go. I would think that an ATV or Moto-X bike being used legally at a State Park would be considered recreational? I would also think that a vehicle being towed by an RV as a 2nd source of transportation for use while at that park would be legal also? But both of those are questions that I didn't ask so I don't know. :-/

Thank goodness I don't live in Illinois.  It seems like they got their undies in bundle over something pretty minor....

If the FunMover which has a bed, refridgerator, sink, stove, shower, toilet, furnace, ect. is NOT considered an RV perhaps the law makers need a lesson as to what an RV actually is.  ::)

The smaller endura with the diesel package (incl 5.5kw diesel gen) is in the LOW 80's around here (and that's BEFORE dickering).

If they're quoting +$100k, it's retail price, and you can tell them to take the leather out...
