Dear Dan, Cornercamper, Ian, Asshole,

I've seen more than one letter like this written to you from more than one organization and cannot believe you can still hang around any aspect of this sport. How do you have any amount of respect with any individual? This sport takes friendships; Friendships are built upon respect: So I would hate to meet you, much less the person that would even call you "friend".

History in a nutshell for everyone else:
Dan gets on WERA's BBS and after making enemies of several good people by his lies, deceit and general attitude get's booted by the Admin. I'll be honest he never bothered me because I didn't read his drool. I do know personal friends that were highly irritated with him.
Dan shows at CCS's BBS and continues his asinine rants and idiotic ravings. I can't speak for that board but I'm sure there's a few there / here that wouldn't waste their piss on his fully fire engulfed ass.
A new member named 2up (Ian Jacksa) begins posting in WERA (Amazingly not long after getting a time out from CCS). Some members notice the same lunacy as Dan and the accusations begin to fly. Again I don't notice because it was about stuff that didn't concern me and honestly I didn't care.

But now is where I start to care.
My wife Rikki is aircrew on C-130s with the Georgia Air Guard and has been activated for the past 17 months. Of those 17 months she's been deployed to the desert (Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Massirah) for 13 months. She's currently serving her 13th and 14th month somewhere in the desert.

Since she fly's every other day and usually sleep and rests on her day off it's hard to talk to her. Hey I'm a guy and I used to be the one going on deployments but it's hard as hell to sit at home and wonder / worry. Imagine my surprise when "Ian" said he'd loan me a satellite phone with all the free minutes we could use so she could call home anywhere she wanted to from anywhere in the world. AWESOME!

But: At the same time WERA admin started noticing the similarities between 2up's and Dan's posts and did a bit of administrative functions investigations. IPs were close and the email used to register was very similar to one of Dan's. So "Ian" was warned. I'll be honest I was skeptical. It's my understanding Dan isn't bright enough to pull of such a charade. This skepticism actually caused a pretty good amount of strife between the admin and me. W/o calling him a liar, I simply hoped there was a simple explanation (again Sean I feel bad you took it the way you did, I ensure you that was never the intent). I mean come-on "Ian" a new email (which was oddly different from the sign up one and different but similar to one he'd told me to use for him), a believable story about how he got the phone (He works for Thermo Capital Partners LLC and they have a controlling interest in the satellite phone companies) and kept saying the ship from address would prove who he was... Never mind there's no Jacksa in NC phone books or no listing of a Jacksa with Thermo... The Thermo part does check out though).

So I waited for this phone that was supposed to be shipped overnight so I could get it to my wife. And waited (even through the "I lost your address when Mongo banned me", "I overslept and missed the delivery guy" excuses) and trust me I'm not waiting anymore. Know why? Because I'm now a firm believer that you're one in the same. And you know what? That highly disappoints me and there's another feeling that I'm not sure how to fully describe: Anger? Spite? Embarrassment? Resentment? I'm not entirely sure.

So where does this leave me? Exactly where I was so no skin off my nose. Sure pretty pissed off but hey, no worries, I've been pissed before and it'll pass. I rely on the belief that what goes around comes around. So the thought of you getting yours actually counteracts most of the piss-ness. I try to be a pride-full and respectful person. If the thought of you getting what is coming to you in life makes me less of that, well, I'd like to first apologize to my friends and second say I'll gladly accept it. I feel I have enough self respect and peer respect to stand losing a little bit.

In closing I'd just like to see if everyone agrees that almost every aspect of this dangerous, exciting sport requires deep bonds of trust and friendship. I suggest those bonds are strong enough to continue to bind through disagreements, spats, misunderstanding and even the occasional full blown fight. But the one thing that severes that bond instantly is deceit. I would like to encourage anyone with any bond on any level with Dan, Cornercamper, Ian, to take a moment and reflect upon what I and others have said and then make your own decision about him and your relationship with him. It's my firm belief we don't need people like him in the world much less in our sport. If you feel the same make sure you tell him so.

Dan, please notice there wasn't a single threat in this entire thread. Doesn't have to be.

PS: If Ian Jacksa would like to step forward with any irrefutable proof that he is not Dan and is the one that offered the phone, I'll be happy to listen. But I sure as hell won't be holding my breath.

Or Dan if you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're an innocent victem here also... Well I'll just not be holding my breath for that either. I'd rather you just stay far, far away from me.

You  low life scumbag. The racing community is small. I will find you. You better never show your face at a racetrack again. Ever. That includes Grattan and Blackhawk and Brainerd. I am close to all of them. Keep in the back of your mind every time your leave your house, that myself and others are looking for a chance to make you suffer. Constantly be looking over your shoulder every single moment of every single day of your pitiful existence. I will see you soon.

You are correct, Dan may not be posting (under any other user ID's), but he's obviously lurking around at least from time to time (under who knows what user ID's).  He's got no friends, well, at least not real ones if you know what I mean.  Dan has to PAY to have friends...........  


Putter, I only saw Dan once this year during a STT trackday at Grattan (where he shows up with no 2004 Mille R he claimed to have), and then he was at the WERA endurance race at Grattan again (with no 2004 Mille R he claimed to race on).  I believe that's the only two time he's at the track this year.  I doubt that he'll be participate in this sport at any track any more.  This is not just because he's got too many enemies looking for him, but also because that he's way too slow to be wasting any money pushing a very nice bike around at any tracks.

I saw that post over on WERA.  I was hoping it was true that you would get that phone.  Sad for someone to pull that stunt.  I firmly believe it was Dan also.

He has a lot of problems that need addressing.  Shill bidding on eBay and then lying about this.  Check the thread in the classifieds about free wireless modems.  I'm thinking no one here got any of those.

Promises?

I've had them myself.  I've had broken promises.  Certainly, most promises fall more under favors...so, when a failure occurs, well, it's really just too bad.

I can feel the disappointment in not getting a satelite phone.  But those opportunities are certainly not things you can buy...it didn't happen.  It's too bad.  

I know a guy that lost his mother to cancer at eight years old.  That's a tragedy.  Really is to bad.  Didn't make him want to go out and do anything though.

Certainly we can all probably agree that Dan doesn't own the company he works for.  So, the marketing department might have some ideas.  Someone gets excited, deals are made...promises...well, things fall through.

To generalize based on my own experiences...

I can say that I had two people in a "bidding" war for a donation to my race against childhood cancer program.  Dan was one of the people, and I did get the money for the bid.
