Has anyone heard about the new Michelin tires, the ones that are taking the spot of the Pilot Race 2, not the new DOT type slicks.  Just curious, Walt Schaffers was talking about them @ barber.

Yup. They are supposed to be awesome. They were testing them at VIR a couple of weeks ago and you would not believe the times they were doing.

Different carcass and method of production.

It should be available commercially for next year, but they will have them for the ROC's.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

They should be really, really cool.

I tested the Pilot Power Sport tire which uses the new P2 carcass at Blackhawk this weekend.  Needless to say...it's a street tire...doesn't need tire warmers...and I ran competitive race times.  I wasn't as fast as what I do on the actual race tires, but we're only talking about a second and a half difference or so.  I was kind of dumb founded, really.  Pretty awesome.

Anyway, the new, new P2 Pilot Power Race tires might not need tire warmers.
