Guys,

Any ideas or suggestions on what to use to remove the front axle on a 636? I've heard of people using the head of a bolt and 2 nuts (insert joke here) instead of buying the hex tools. I went to Home Depot to try and do this, but couldn't find the right size. Anyone successfully do this or have another method that works for them?

Thanks,
Ray

I use one of the sparkplug removal sockets in my craftsman set.  I don't remember which size it is but one of them fits in there perfectly.  Just turn it around, stick a 3/8" extension in it backwards and have at it...

you CAN buy the hex tool for $15, ya cheap bastard.

but then again, i didn't either, just purchased a bolt, but two nuts on it, and cut off the end.

I think the size of the bolt head and nuts were 24mm.  I can't remember what size bolt that equated to, but M16 rings a bell.

Yeah yeah,

I know, I'm cheap. You already know I'm race prepping the new 636 for next year. I went ahead and ordered the adapter from LP.

Hey it was good to see you again. Sorry Mary didn't make it this weekend.

Yes Dave,

I'm retiring the F2. Well, not retiring... selling. :)
