Some please explain how this "affiliation" is supposed to be working.  Do FasTrax points count toward / with CCS points?

Is this a real deal or is it not??

Please someone clear this up.
thank you!!

CCS

Your ranking in the Fasttrax Great Lakes Series will count towards a grid spot at the CCS Race of Champions. While Bob and his crew are keeping track of the actual Fasttrax Series points for ranking, using the class conversion chart we released earlier this year, CCS will also award it's final Great Lakes Series Championships based on the events listed in the schedule released with your license packet.

For 2005, only Fasttrax-promoted events will count for rankings and titles in the Great Lakes region, unless previously announced.

Please follow this link I posted elsewhere.  It brings up some questions I have about the CCS affliation.

Thanks

Please also clear up issues with contingency.  I've unsuccessfully been trying to find out when Fasttrax will be receiving contingencies, as no one has received anything this year.

Thanks.

Mike,

I haven't registered for the localriders web, so I'll just add my reply here.

Before CCS had transmitters, they provided regular scorers for all of the races, including the endurance races.  We didn't have to pay anyone directly to score for us, especially not individually.  Now that the CCS rounds provide transmitters, we still don't have to pay to use them, at least at CCS races, so why are you all paying scorers or to use transmitters?  This sound like some missing details between Bob Stanley and Kevin Elliot.

The one time I ran a Fastraxx event at NL, we paid something like $70 for two people to score use during the 3-hour race.  If it were up to me, I wouldn't have paid anything given my previous experience, but we went ahead and paid the folks.  I think this is something you need to handle with the Fastraxx staff.  They need to raise their gate fee or something to cover the cost of regular scorers for everyone, so you all don't have to come out of your pocket for every race.  Fastraxx offers a convenient registration process, but that's where it ends in my mind.

Again, the concern with contingency probably needs to be worked out between Bob Stanley and Kevin Elliot.

Have either of you raced a CCS weekend that wasn't also a Fastraxx weekend?  If so, what did you notice?

Sean,

For the Record Bob and Fasttrax doesn't charge us anything extra for the transponders (when they are there.)

Fasttrax has never provided scorers, it has been the racer/ teams responsability to provide a scorer.  If you didn't have a buddy with you to score, you could always find someones friend, girlfriend or wife who would do it.  The set fee had always been agreed to be $30.  Not saying thats good/bad or anything just the way it's been.

But we have been told over and over that the transpodners will be at every race, and they haven't been.  It has hurt some who came without help only to find out at the track the transponder didn't show.

No, I haven't been to just a straight up CCS event.  I endurance race with Fasttrax, as far as I can tell CCS doesn't really have a Endurance set up in any other region.  Or am I wrong?

Thanks for the input Sean, and I had fun racing with you when you where at Nelsons.  I was on the Yellow #44 Holeshot Motorsports R6.

Hope to see you guys out again soon.

snb,

The NL was an experience for sure.  For my money, I prefer Blackhawk Farms, even though it's further away than NL, Gingerman and Grattan.  Mostly because I know the people and everytime I go there (next time it will be like my 15th time) I try to accomplish a goal.  The guys that race at the NL definitely have big cojones because that track, although fun, was not watched enough by cornerworkers for my taste.  At least those that I could see - I only recall see workers at the tower and that was it.

I did like the awards showcase, that would definitely sell me on coming back if I were a newbie.

Sorry you all haven't had many, if any opportunities to use the transponders, they are definitely nice to have, especially for tracking your lap times.

On the contingency thing:
At CCS events, as long as you go through tech with the right paper work, the paperwork is really out of your hands.  Whomever is collecting it holds the responsibility at that time.  If it's a CCS issue, be patient, with Tiffiney on maternity leave, I am sure things slowed down a bit because her work load had to be share amongst a small staff.  Now that she's back maybe things will improve.

Keep learning the endurance racing game this season, then try your skill out at a FUSA event.  That's where CCS holds its endurance races.  Usually at the FUSA level, the turn around on prizes and contingency is much quicker.

Are you getting white plates next year?

I agree contingency takes time.  My concern is that the proper paperwork/whatever isn't in place.  I don't think it's normal to not have received any contingency for the whole season when it's mid-August.  I'm not really one of the riders that's hurt by it as much because I haven't run many events with Fasttrax, but that was supposed to be one of the big advantages of joining with CCS.

I just talked with Ken (Abbott) and he said the normal waiting period for contingency is about 2 weeks once results are received.  I called and left a voicemail with Tiffiany (please call me if you see this Tiffiany  :) ) to see what results they may or may not have on file from Bob/Fasttrax.

Ken also pointed out that if you look on the points page and the points are updated for the Fasttrax region, that is most likely a result of CCS not getting the results.  They are fairly quick in posting results/points once they receive them.

Thanks.

Hey, if CCS posted results, then you'd think contingency wouldn't be far behind.  I personally have not received any contingency awards, but in the past I have heard many people discuss the pace of receiving tire contingency awards.

Are you sure you did everything to satisfy the contingency sponsorhip paperwork needs?  Some of them do require being registered with them directly.

I did, but I'm talking more about Fasttrax as a whole rather than just myself.

Moto,

Thanks for the heads up on the FUSA Endurance, I didn't know they ran that.  Although, I really don't have the funds or the off time to be able to support running a National Series.

As far as the corner workers,  So times they are hit and miss.  If I remember right me and you came out of turn 13 together, only to find a bike laying side ways in the middle of the front straight.
Seat squeezer, for sure.

As far as the white plates, I don't know.  This is my 1st year racing.  Time will tell
