I was going to do my first supersport race at Barber this weekend with CCS. Will it be a good place for first time, or will the four region event make the field too fast and crowded? What is a good lap time for R6 supersport?

Do it.

Barber is an easy track to learn.  Don't be a puss. :)

Really.. it is EASY.

GSXR RACER MIKE

I heard there are alot of racers attending this event, and if any classes are going to be sold out they're definately going to be the middleweight classes! I would call CCS and ask if there is still plenty of space available in the classes your looking at, and make sure and get to registation early so as to get on the grid for sure. I personally like the place and would recommend it to almost anyone, but unless your crazy fast be prepared to be lapped by some on fire leaders trying to break the sound barrior! :o

It's bad from the perspective that the grids will be FULL.  But it's good from the perspective that Barber is a VERY safe track.

I have been watching the onboard video for this track. IMHO, it is a fine track for a newbie provided you be as safe into turn 1 with a full grid of 600 riders as you can. From then on it is not a superspeedway, or a track full of heavy braking areas that sometimes cause pile ups when multiple riders try to out brake each other. Very smooth flowing track, reminding me alot of JenningsGP but with major elevation changes..really looking forward to this track. Will take me back to my dirt bike days with all the tracks ups-n-downs..

Barber is a good place for ANY RACE YOU CAN GET

hell i'd race my scooter on it. I'd race my truck on it. I'd race a skateboard there. hell I'd run the track, its just simply THAT GOOD

turn 5 is always a melee, especially first lap.... easy to lose the front there. first lap of a novice 600 race could be very hairy in a few places

I say do it!  This is the first time I have everbeen here and I can't wait..  I saw the track today and a few cars were on it.
Do not worry  I know 7 other guys that will be in that race besides me that will all be learning the track with me.  Grab a set and grid up
