August 1, 2004 - Due to delays in completing the Shenandoah Circuit, CCS has announced that the September 4-5 event at Summit Point Motorsports Park has been cancelled. Therefore, the MARRC Roadracing School scheduled for that weekend has also been cancelled.

I took a spin on the Shenandoah circuit on an XR100 over the WERA weekend a few days ago.  I must say that the circuit does not look promising.  Work is progressing, but the total lack of runoff is shocking.  I can't imagine any racing discipline finding it fit for racing anything other than a Schwinn.  I hope that all the very permanent looking concrete walls lining the track on both sides are some type of temporary construction aid.

think it will be ready for the Oct races?

judgeing by the stinkin concrete barriers it isnt gonna be nice.  If they are there, I am not.  They should have left the schedule and made the Summit round on the Main.

to let everyone know most of the concrete barriers are only temperary. the runoff area will be addressed once the track is complete right now people are only going off what they see the main course used tolooked like that when it was first built. the shanandoah course is actully 3 courses combimned it's a car, kart, and bike course. once it's final they will ba able to block off the other two safely so only one is in use. which i think is a good idea Bill Scott was really thinking when he desighned this track.

just to let yall know to get info about the new track is email summit  point  they try to let everyone know as much info as posible the only reason i know is because i've been talking to track matenice and bsr officals every weekend i'm at summit. so far the main paving is almost complete the one draw back is the building of a control tower and there will only be one way in and one way out of the course thats going to be over the bridge for those who have walked the course. not to many spectating areas are going to avalible in hopeing it'll be done in sept. cause i, like all you racers hate to have the season cut short by this. for me there is only one more race left  plus ama/fusa at VIR   so keep your fingers crossed something will arise and they get good weather till it's done.
