This is a general ALERT

Be very, very wary when lbk offers to sap your tires :o

I had a great time at Gingerman this w/e (look for a separate thread on that).  Dave and Karen were a couple pits over from us.  When I learned he was lbk, I asked about the "sapping of tires" that he posted under the "Gingerman Rolecall" thread.

Well, being the nice guy that he is and wanting to help a newbie get off on the right foot, he told me about putting tree sap on the rear tire.  This is supposed to give better grip. ::)

So that explains my 12 o'clock stunter move at the start of my very first race (the Thunderbike race).

I think Dave may have mined my front wheel too. >:(  What else could explain my riding off the track at turn 6 ;)

Seriously though, thanks again for your support, encouragement and friendship Dave & Karen.

That was you.  I did the same thing at Gingerman about 2 years ago, expect mine was captured on video (said document has been destroyed for obvious reason, just kidding).

Glad you had a good weekend.  One thing about tires on a MW bike.  Keeping them fresh will keep you safe.  If you have to add stuff to the tire, you probably need a new tire.

H, good to see  you pick it up get it started and finish the race. That's what it's all about man a lot of people would've just given up at that point, which by the way looking at your bike afterwards you finished that race with a broken clutch lever. :D

Sorry about that, I truly heard that soaking tires in tree sap helps with grip and since there were those nice strips all the way around the track I figured your first race weekend, you could use some EXTRA grip. Note though for anyone who wants to use this technique, consult me first. The tree sap has to be applied very evenly for the said gained grip to be achieved. It's a fine art that I have perfect, and in turn lowered the cost of my tires by more than 200% but again, you must be experienced and know which kind of tree sap to use. LOL

It was a good weekend, and we'll see you back up there in October.
