Q:  What is the schedule for Barber?

A:  Gate operation is under the control of Barber Motorsports.  Gate will open on Wednesday at 7PM and close at 9PM.   Normal gate operation for the weekend will be 7AM to 9PM. Only those with armbands/credentials will be allowed to enter after 9PM on any evening.  The CCS/FUSA schedule is at this site: http://www.formulausa.com/shows/pdf/Barber%20FUSA%20%20SCHEDULE.pdf

Registration for the CCS/FUSA events will be in the registration building at the main gate.  Registration and tech will open on Thursday at 5 PM and the windows will close at 7PM.  Registration and tech will be open from 7AM to 4PM on Friday and Saturday, then open from 7AM to 8AM on Sunday.

Q:  Does that mean if I get there after 9PM on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday night that I have to wait in line until 7AM the next morning to get in?

A:  Yes!

Q:  In what regions will points be awarded?

A:  Double points will be awarded in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southern and Great Plains CCS regions.

Q:  Who else will be racing besides the four CCS Regions?

A:  This is a Team Challenge and Formula USA event.  Additionally, the 125 and 250 USGPRU competitors and the SRA sidecar competitors will be sharing track time.

Q:  Is there a practice day?

A:  Thursday is a track sponsored practice day, an application with costs and details are at this site: http://www.barbermotorsports.com/Aug12PracticeRegistrationForm.pdf.  The cost is $130 for first bike, $45 for each additional bike per rider.  This does not include gate fees.

Q:  What are the gate fees?

A:  For participants, crew and anyone wanting paddock access:  $35 Weekend (Thursday or Friday-Sunday); $25 Saturday-Sunday; $15 Sunday.  Spectator passes will not permit access to paddock.

Q:  Is camping allowed?

A:  Yes, for a fee paid to Barber Motorsports.  Self-contained RV's may setup in the paddock ($25-$30).  Tent camping is in lot "C" ($15), past the paddock entrance.

Q:  Is there power in the paddock?

A:  No power is available in the paddock area.  Outlets at the lower level of the media center/race control are reserved for emergency vehicle and staff use only.

Q:  Is there a PA system?  Has it been upgraded since last year?

A:  The PA system is the same.  Speakers are located on the media center building facing the paddock.   There is a simulcast on 106.3 FM of all announcements.

Q:  Where can we pit?

A:  The paddock area is tiered.  The lowest level will be reserved for vendors, staff, corner workers, maintenance and emergency vehicles.  All other levels are available.  The asphalt in the paddock area must be protected.  Use the wooden blocks under your trailer hitches, stands, etc.  Parking for tow vehicles is above the paddock area.  Be kind to your neighbors, unload and park there so everyone has room.

Q:  Are dogs allowed?

A:  No, please review the track rules and regulations at this site: http://www.barbermotorsports.com/rules_regs.html

VP fuel vendor at Barber?

corvette95

Barber has three levels of Sonoco Race fuel up to 115 octane on pump via credit card.

Clay

High octane gas isn't what we're talking about, we're talking about VP fuel.  TOTALLY different.

Donald, I would most likely assume that the big VP truck will be there considering that this is an FUSA event.

However, if Cindy or Greg will be there please post up; I'd like to order from them and support my local vendor!

speedster_1

Cindy will be there...place your orders!

No power really sucks!

rubberducky

First oh all, are you serious about vendors having the first (closest to the track) tier? Im not tring to pitch a fit here but when I was there last the vendors were on the second tier and from what I know they typically run it like that. Not to mention there is power outlets on hot pit wall that we used last time. Could someone explain-set me straight etc..

So do I have to put in an order for VP before going or can I just show up and purchase. If I need to order who do I need to talk to?

corvette95

99% of the time Vendors are on second tier.

BERZERKER

The gate is only open for 2 hours (7-9pm) on Wednesday????

WHat is their policy onpit bikes?

Thanks

You can have pit bikes in the paddock area but are not allowed to take them out unless they are "street legal" (meaning have a tag) and wear a helmet.  Unless they've changed the rules...

the pit area is okay for pit bikes, the road is actualy part of birmingham and you will have to obey city of birmingham laws, also outside of the pits you have wear a helmet on a pedal pusher.
