Hi all, My dad was involved in a big wreck Friday which he was taken out by helicopter.  I'm not sure which class he was running but i know he was on the GXSR 750, i think his # is 78???  I first wanted to say on behalf of my entire family thanks to everyone there on the track, flaggers, medics, and all the folks at CCS on a whole for getting him treatment and on his way to the hospital.  I especialy want to thank Steve and everyone else there with him for helping my step mother with everything.  Unfortunatly I'm in Baltimore and cant be there, but my sister and younger brother are closer than i am to help.  He is getting better, but is still in the hospital and probally will be for a few more days.  he has a few broken ribs, and some head injury's among with some other things.  If any one saw it happen please let me know.  i just want to know what happened and i dont want to bug my step mom about it.  Thanks again.

I didn't personally see the crash, just the aftermath.  Supposedly a rider was coming up behind the other(godfather) into turn 9, supposedly to pass, then godfather attempted to pick it up but lost the front, went down, the second rider had nowhere to go, and clipped the back of godfathers head. I know the one guy broke his wrist, maybe his leg, and a large tear in his arm. All I know about godfather is he was airlifted out, and word was that evening that they had put him in self induced acoma. Now don't take what I say for gospel, it's just what came through the pits, and you know how that can be. I know it was a bad crash and wish both riders a speedy recovery.

Thanks, it helps to know a little more about what happened.   Again, thanks to all

Is this Charlie that they airlifted??

I am sorry to hear about this.  Hopefully he will heal up quick.

Yeah, that's him.  Thanks I'll pass along the get wells.

Mike:

Check with Vicki @ VHS.  Dave thinks she was photographing when that wreck happened.

Our prayers are with your family for a quick recovery.

Mike, I've just sent you an email.  Yes I was at 9 taking pics.  You're not going to be able to tell from my pics what started the incident but I believe it's pretty much the way that's been posted.
