The common thing is that they cater to cars more than bikes...Maybe this is why. A very good friend of mine (Bill Gash), former multi regional champion Road racer in wera & ama has moved to cars as he has gotten older.

Just like we get a newsletter concerning road racing the DC area SCCA members get a magazine and it is called Straight Pipe...And in either this months or last months issue there was an article about all the improvements that have been completed and how they were paid for.

In a nutshell the only thing that was built and paid out of pocket is the the gift shop and the extension of the snack bar area. The rest was VOLUNTARILY built by car racers!!!

Now wonder he caters to them more than us...Maybe we CCS racers could do some of the same thing to have the new track made to cater to us. What does everyone think? Would you be willing to do some volunteer time in our best interest?

There are alot of other things that were done that I don't have time to type but, you get the idea.

Lets keep this post rolling to get some good feedback...

And have you noticed the new Library donated to the town of Summit Point by SCCA. Folks car racers have deep pockets, don't get in a spending war with them.

It's the demographics killing you there.  For motorcycle racers you generally have a younger crowd.  For car racers it's generally an older (and more financially able) crowd.  Soooo...like Tiberio said...don't get in a spending war.

Believe me, I know of the DEEP POCKETS they have...I just think it would be good to volunteer some time and build the flagger stands if they  (Summit) supplied the materials as thay did for the SCCA projects. I think that would be a doable thing for us as a organization to show that we cared.

Any improvement is a good improvement as long as it is for the right reasons and effects all that are involved.
