Lets all thank Steve Richardson for putting in the work to get this done.

New pricing for the Friday Trackday at MAM is as follows:

$150 for the full day

$100 for anyone that shows up after 2pm

Steve spoke with Natha the general manager at MAM, and got her to drop the prices by $25.

He is also working for free that day as part of the deal.  He will be helping the crash truck, and corner workers etc.. throughout the entire day.

Lets not "boycott" this track day because CCS decided not to reserve the day.

Natha was nice enough to match the prices they charge for thier SCCA track days even though the insurance is higher for bikes.

Thank you Steeeve!

What time does practice end?  If its at 4 or 5, $100 is kind of a rip for 3 hours.

Dear All,
I apologize for being away from my computer today.....Thanks Chuck for posting the price change.  (Umm, Dawn, am I that transparent?!)
Well, I'm only a lowly cornerworker, & I don't pretend to know what is involved in running a track.....Therefore, after reading the concerns posted on the forum last night I called my boss, Natha (the GM), to politely inquire if the price could be adjusted for us "economically challenged" racers.  She was very receptive to the concerns I passed along and wanted to work out a price break, even if it was at the last minute.  I know it's only a savings of approx. 15%, but every bit can certainly help.

[My uneducated speculation is:  MAM is still a relatively new facility, & I can only imagine the difficulty of trying to get a track financially prosperous, while still being accesible to the club racer.  Regardless, you won't find a staff more committed to the racing experience than here at MAM, the people really care that racers get a good experience.  Perhaps if there were more then one CCS event held here this summer, costs would be even cheaper......]

Please pardon that rant......The track day is scheduled to run until 5:30.  It is for 2004 licensed racers only.  The track is open from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm.  There will be no sessions, so we'll need to play nice with one another.
And for the love of god, can we get the Thunderbike grids filled.  Please.

Ouch, that hurts.

Has nothing to do with being nice...

An expert coming into turn five on a 600 to a 1000 is very different from an amatuer coming into five on an EX500.

Could be dangerous.

So, for $150, I assume that we get cornerworkers...but no one running start finish?

Dave,
There were no sessions at the Friday practice at Heartland Park 2 weeks ago.  There were no problems.   (The biggest problem was the Saturday LP practice with street riders mixed in with racers.....Now that was unpleasant.)
I believe there will be 5 of the 8 stations manned on Friday.  Pit Out will be track control (manned by the head race official, Elias Ruiz), he will throw a checkered flag if & when needed.  If there is a concern regarding the disparity between racers during the day, please bring it to either my attention (in the paddock), Elias' attention, or Candy & Lisa's attention in registration.  Of course there'll be adjustments made (i.e. sessions introduced) if problems arise.
Safety is the key.
