You know what would be totally awesome...

A MotoGP 5 lap sprint race.  That, would probably the ultimate test of skill.  Seperate the men from the boys.  That would show who can really do what, primarily because there isn't enough time to sit around and wait.  It's gloves off from the time the board goes green.  No mistakes, no time to recover from a screw up.

That was AWESOME I think he ended up with a bigger gap on 2nd place even with the 10 second penalty than he had when they made him aware of it.

Although that Honda appeared to be gapping him pretty good down the front straight. Trust me though the man is THE MAN in my book. Although I have to admit this race wasn't nearly as fun to watch as the previous one.

As soon as rossi settled behind sete I went about doing other things. And I came back 30 minutes later and it is still the same. I figured it is going to be a last 3 lap thing, so there wasn't much to watch for in between. Except for when Barros outbraked himself.

It did seem that Sete was gapping him a little when Alex go infront of rossi, but I am sure he would have caught back up even if alex didnt crash.

I dont think rossi/yamaha is that much faster that he can try to go away from the get go. I think he wanted to follow sete, let him work, and figure out what he can do without wasting his tires. There are many times you can see Rossi could have made a pass, but he got to the passing position, then swung back behind sete. I am sure he could have taken sete any of those times, but not quite the right time yet. As soon as he got by, sete had no answer for him. that was proof enough.

Shame Nicky messed up the start. He could have got on the podium yet again. so could have Edwards, they rode well in the race.

It really wasn't a risk.  Rossi was just playing with him.  He could've passed him at any time.  That's what makes Rossi god.  He can just turn it on and off.  Whenever he needs to, he turns it on, but won't go any faster than he has to for the 1st place finish.  Just imagine if he went "balls out" for an entire race.  I wonder if he'd lap the 2nd place rider? :P He only goes as fast as he needs to win the race, and nothing more.  8)

To me, it seems real lucky and tacticfully..............  Obviously, Rossi's Yamaha was way down on acceleration and speed if you were watching the same race as I...........   ::)  Rossi was faster in part of the technical section, but everywhere else Sete was walking away from him easily with a twist of right hand especially as they charge out of the last corner heading to straight (unfair competition to me).........  If Rossi passed any sooner, Sete would pass him back for the win with the HONDA power.  

Throughout the race, it seems that Rossi can only stay with Sete by late braking everywhere he can, and draft behind him.  No doubt, Rossi would win by a huge margin given the same machine as Sete.  Rossi's passing on the last lap was a great move, but it seems that he couldn't gap Sete enough due to the motor difference for a sure win, and that Sete could definitely pass him back before they hit the last corner.  

I think Sete screwed his own chance for the win by trying to follow Rossi too close too soon especially when Rossi basically ran wide (=too slow) for 2 corners in the row (uncharacteristic)!  The first corner Rossi ran wide, Sete made a great move to pull alongside Rossi, but couldn't late brake enough to make the pass from outside, he then came back on inside when Rossi again ran a little wide.  As Rossi tighten up the turn to stay on the defensive line by slowing down a little, Sete had to get on the brake to avoid contact (he almost hit Rossi's rear tire with hi front) and hence stood up the bike a little and ran wide (also prevent him from getting back on the gas sooner) which gave Rossi the break he needs it to gap Sete from basically 1 bike length to a 5-6 bike length to deny Sete any chance for passing.  

All in all, it was a great race, and Rossi definitely proves that he's DA MAN to beat with Honda RCV211 DA obvious MACHINE/ENGINE to beat!  Rossi really shows his talent and experience/matureness (being patient and tactiful).  Sete will probably learn from this race, and win from now on though............  I think all Sete needs to do to win is doing what he's already done so far by riding consistently, but just needs to make sure that he makes a harder charge at the last lap to prevent Rossi from passing him, or give Rossi the lead before the last lap, and use the motor advantage to sneak up on Rossi for the checker flag on the last lap like Duhamel!

All in all, I am a loyal Honda customer and love Honda, but hates how they treated and forced Rossi to quit riding for Honda (the stupidest move by Honda no doubt) even thought Honda RCV211 is definitely the best MotoGP machine/overall package.  Now if Yamaha could give Rossi a better motor, Rossi would start winning races by walking away from all Hondas.

The only time I HAVE EVER had a problem with my Duc's Sunny, was when you dropped my 748 on it's side and I had to pull dirt out of the fairings  ;D Other than that, no problems ever..  ;D

Come on Dan, there was definitely problem with your Ducati because I clocked much faster time on it riding it for the first time than you on it for a while.................   ::) ;D

Again, I am sorry that I had to lay it down at 5 mph on wet grass to prevent a much worst damage if I was to head downhill off T6 into the metal fence at Grattan...............   :-[  I did offer $$$ if you want a good clean and repaint the few scratches though!   ;)  Must thank you again for lending the bike to me to see what a Ducati can do!  Obviously quite a lot and hence why I went into T5 way too hot............still don't think anyone go in there faster than me (no brake and still on gas)..........   ::) ;D  

Definitely have to give Keith Thompson of Superbike Specialties at Westland all the credits for transforming that Ducati into a confident-inspiring cornering/handling machine!   ;)
