I remeber this topic being discused, but could not find the answer.  Any help is appreciated.

What is the scheduel for 8-1-04 at Gingerman?  Is CCS still planning on running a track day on Saturday instead of races?  Are they going to have racer only sessions as part of the SR track day?

Jeff

Probably...  That's what they've done in the past, and since it's only on the schedule as a 1 day event, logic says no races on Saturday.

SRD is listed on 7/31, so this seems to make sense.

Turnout is typically small, and they do a Sport Rider Day on Sat...

It's too bad CCS has elected to run a short event this year.  Since WERA pulled out of the mid-west, they had a chance to convert some former WERA guys and help grow our sport.

Unfortuneately, a single 1 day event at Gingerman is unlikely to attract many converts.

In any case, I'm looking forward to it.

I would have thought that was the idea behind the affiliation with Fastraxx (Great Lakes Region).

But read what a couple WERA guys are saying about that http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?s=8891b2f8d37782357af368156187e30d&threadid=53179.

There's also a thread here about the event.

If someone could lock a true Midwest/Great Lakes schedule (Grattan and Gingerman), they'd be onto something.

A prior organization had both those tracks and very high turnouts.  Since that organization's demise, half the people went WERA and half went CCS; both of which have received lighter turnouts at those tracks.

I think if either one could lock up both tracks for 2 events each, then add BeaveRun, Mid Ohio, Nelson, Putnam etc., for the rest of the schedule, they'd really be onto something.  But hey, what do I know.  :)

In regard to the Fasttrax event, it's not currently at the same level as CCS or WERA.  It's more of a "learning" organization from what Bob says.  Fine for some.  Not fine for others.

(disclaimer:  I do realize the difficulty in acquiring track dates within a region schedule, along with affording the cost of the track.  this is merely my opinion).

I agree witcha whole-heartedly Eddie.

If all works out as Bob discussed it, the GL regions may be racing at Nelson, Grattan, Gingerman, Putnam and BeaveRun in 2005.

How cool would that be? 8)

Especially if BeaveRun finishes their track extension plans for next season.;D

But as you noted, the way Fastraxx is set-up and runs now isn't to everyone's liking. :-/

Maybe Fasttraxx will morph/evolve to something different if it maintains its affiliation with CCS.  It was one thing for Bob to be a small independent org.  He may choose to alter parts of his vision for Fastraxx and its original members as time goes on ???

I sure hope so.  Fasttrax would be taking a big step with a schedule like that and while Bob likes to do his own thing, he is a part of CCS so I think a lot of people expect the weekend to be run similar to a normal CCS race weekend.

Not to over dramatize it, but I think a lot more responsibility is taken with a full schedule as mentioned (if it happens).  I would hope things change if his target audience changes.

But then again, there is no 05 schedule out, and there's always a lot of talk.  :)
