Well, I survived my first race crash with only a concussion and a fractured skull. I saw that there were official camara crew people there taking pictures. Does anyone know who they were and how to get ahold of them? I'd love to find out if they have any crash pics of me. Because of the concussion, I don't remember a thing.

Also, if anyone saw it, let me know. I am #34 Amateur on a black RC51 and crashed during the Unlimited GP I guess down by the bus stop turn.

Here's the race report...pics coming soon. http://www.ballsacracing.com/race_reports/053004_brian.htm

Brian,

Glad to hear you're OK. I don't have any photos of your wreck, but I did have a front row seat, I was about 20 feet behind you (and closing  ;D ) when you low-sided. I was a concerned because you hit, and slid without moving and I knew you were unconsious.

How long are you gonna be out of commission?

Thanks for posting this as I couldn't get over to your pits until after the SuperTwins race and by that time you were already gone. Speaking of SuperTwins, you missed a really fun race, Tom and I had a blast!

OH, and next time you decided to low-side could you make sure you and the bike are out of the race line. ;D I had to come to almost a complete stop to get around you and the bike as Tom is riding off into the sunset. Just kidding.  ;)  Again, glad to hear you're OK.

Brian,
Good to hear you and Mike are (for the most part) OK. I was concerned mostly because they red-flagged the next race (Ex Unlim GP) so you guys could get on your way to the hospital.
BTW, all you twins guys were riding really well this past weekend! 1:03's and 1:04's are awesome!

Wow! I didn't even know I went unconscious! Did you happen to see (or hear) if I got up pretty quickly or if I layed there a while? Also, any idea what happened? Was it just your average mill low side? Was it at the beginning/middle/end of the turn? Any info is great because I don't remember diddly. Thanks for posting! Doc says no activities where I can hit my head for 6 weeks. Planning to do Buttonwillow to make up for this weekend.

Thanks. We were surprised at how well we were doing too. The fat lady is not really easy to handle and Firebird is short and tight. I'm tempted to get a salvage title bike now because my RC is in good shape and I owe money on her. Crashing a bike you owe on sucks.

BTW: did I spell your last name right in my report?

I heard about the red flag last night....sorry about that guys! That really sucks. Stinkin amateurs!!  :D

Glad you're OK, that ULGP race was waving yellows almost all race.

Were you the only guy that went down in the busstop?  I know I saw someone running off the track there as I was coming in, so if it was you, you got up pretty quick.

Unfortunately, I didn't see exactly what caused it. As I was coming down the back straight towards the bus stop, I shifted to third, was looking at you to see where you were at and you hadn't entered T4 yet. I looked for my brake markers, glanced at you, back to the markers and started braking, back to you as you started to turn in, looked for my turn in point... found it, looked in towards my apex and that's when I saw you, seperating from your bike, you and your bike were already on the ground and you were sliding from just past the apex feet first. You must have hit right when I looked in towards the turn, because I just caught a glimpse of your head coming up from the pavement, as you slid you were limp. At that point, I stood my bike up got on the brakes as you came to a stop on the inside of the racing line and your bike had slid to the outside of the racing line. I went around to the right of you and your bike. Mind you, this happened in seconds...

You must have gotten up on your own, because on the next lap I didn't see you or your bike and there wasn't a yellow flag.

Zac- Yeah, somebody (#34x -Dirk Harden or #90-Neil Pollard) went off T5 a lap or 2 before Brian's low-side and then #29 -Ted Rich low-sided T9 the lap after Brian.

From the looks of the score sheet, it appears that there was 5 wrecks that race.. ouch.  :'(  (I took a picture of the final results, it helps with my memory  ;D )

Hmm....so that implies I didn't crash on the brakes but on the turn in since I made it to the apex (at least "I" did -- haha). Wow.  Thanks for the replay and THANKS for dodging me!

Dirk didn't crash in ULGP, he pulled in.  He had crashed Sat. though.

Neil Pollard (aka Joe) wasn't having the greatest weekend, looked like he crashed coming out of the horseshoe.  That was his second crash of the day, but he was doing fine.

Four seperate crashes with a 19 rider field kinda sucked...
