Selling Takeoffs

How do you guys normally price your takeoffs?  Dependent on how many heat cycles they've been through of course, but like a set of 120/180s with around 5 or so cycles?

I normally sell my DOT takeoffs to street squids for $75-125 per set depending upon condition.

I price mine by tread wear.  I would say it depends on how good the take offs are and who you are selling them to.  Low heats cycles help but tread is more important. IMO

I always buy take-offs for my street bikes and we are definitely not squids. Roger has gotten up to 3000 useful miles out of take-offs, and he commutes almost 30 miles one way. For some reason, some poeple think that take offs won't work for street use, but they actually work fine, and neither of us has had any problem with 'em. Not only that, you get a great tire at an even sweeter price. My $.02 ;)

If you're taking them to ebay, start them at $24.99 for a rear or $49.99 for a set.

I go through more rears than fronts, so I end up selling rears that are pretty shot on one side for around $50-65.  A pair I sell for around $100.  I base my price on wear not heat cycles.

Wonder if anyone has any that'll fit my Road King ;D 8)  I think it's a 130/16 on the front, and a 150/16 on the rear (bias ply, not radial).   :-/

EXACTLY! If you're selling as street tires, who the hell cares about heat cycles...
ebay has started to suck for selling takeoffs... not only that shipping is getting ridiculous...

Fedex ground is reasonable for shipping.  I shipped a front to Iowa (or Kansas--I can't remember now) for about $9.00 from the UP of Michigan.  And it was there in 2 days.  Buyer pays shipping anyway when you buy them from me!

Ya, I will from now on, but fedex is 20miles away, UPS is 2 miles. They charged me 19 bucks to ship a set to the other side of the STATE (NC).

FedEx is the worst company on the planet.  

Their service for ground is great
Their rates are great
Their billing department is the most F'd up thing I've ever encountered in my entire life.

I dealt with them for 3 years.   Stopped once early on in the relationship because they couldn't apply payment correctly.  Gave it a few years figuring things would be better, but NOOOOOOOOO...  

UPS may be overpriced, but at least their processes are tried and true...

I like UPS because they're convienient for me, and their "insurance" policy works. I once had a client ship a costume to me for repairs, and it was stolen en route. She filled out all the proper forms and had her money in hand with in 30 days, no questions asked. The claim was for over $1000 so I consider that a miracle. We both thought she'd have to jump through hoops.

Fed Ex on the other hand has given me the run around a couple of times on minor issues, and they're not as convenient. I'd hate to see what would happen on a larger issue.

Good service wins out over a slight savings any day for me.
