Hilarious....

Road America charges the AMA boys to camp...Mladin's mad!   He even deals with the same weird security guy!  And $ for power, too.  Apparently it's true...the more things change the more they stay the same.

I love his reports.

Me likes this part:  ;D

Quoting Mladin

"The acceleration of the Ducati and Honda had our backs against the wall."

End Quote

Where's all the haters at   ;D  Always Ducati ain't got this, Ducati ain't got that, Ducati will get smoked by a GSXR...  You know who you are.  This actually made my day  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Corner,
I was just kidding before, but I think that you are
sort of challenged in some physiological manner.

Nah, I'm just bored tonight.  Babby sitting.  Plus, I have a freind that lurks this board, and seems to think that Ducati's are just plain crap.  It's been an arguement for years between us.  He's already seen this post, and called right after, as I expected.

You will have to do better than that, bring some heat.

I'm serious.  He doesn't post, just lurks.  Lurks WERA's board too.   For some reason, he thinks that the GSXR is god's gift to club racers.  Don't get me wrong, the GSXR is a hell of a bike, and I even own one, but better than Ducati.. :-/  It's been a long going arguement.  Should've heard the B.S. at the track when the "new" GSXR 1000 came out.

Camper,
it is a much more suitable bike for a clubracer (GSXR)
it isn't God's gift however, that would be the Yamaha ;D
I myself am a Suzuki guy. Ducs are too spendy and like all sexy biches, they are high maintenance.

I definetly agree, as a GSXR owner, and a Ducati owner.  But, when we argue, it is generalized on the bike instead of the type of rider.  It doesn't matter if it's a club racer, or WSBK.  I'm done riding a duc on the track.  Last time it cost me a grand (lowside in the bowl at Grattan.)  Here's some pics of that one:

That sucked.  Notice the two different sets of leathers, and different helmet  >:(

if you are fixing a duc you just have to know where to get parts. what did you have to replace/fix thet cost a grand. I crashed way to much last year and I replaced the radiator $150 2 pairs of rearsets $325, $135 fairing bracket $140 throttle assembly $80.00
clutch mastercyclender & bracket $20.00 Frame sliders $150 (not running them anymore)
Total=$1000.
I don't think it made a differance that it was a Duc or a Giggy. most of the parts I use are made by the same people that produce the Suz, Yam, Kaw aftermarket stuff.

By the way high maint.=a 2 smoke!!

I bent a rotor on my 749S the first time riding it.  Long story.  It was one of the first 749's in the country.  I had to go order a new one from the dealer, and wait 2 months for it if I remember right.  I also had to pay $600.00 for it.  The bike was too new, and nobody was making aftermarket rotors or anything yet.  I couldn't even find one on ebay.   Then, I had to replace a rearset.  That cost $285.00 for the same reason.  Plus, after the rotor incident, I was out for the weekend because there is absolutely no where to find a rotor in stock for a Ducati, let alone a new model Ducati.

On my Mille R, I had the Aprilia Akrapovic full Ti race system on it.  I went down, and broke one of the hangers.  They were made of carbon.  That cost me $180.00 to fix.  It's simply not worth racing those bikes.  No where to find parts other than the dealer and ebay.  Plus, if you go down on a Ducati during a race weekend, good luck trying to find a part.

I remember one time with my 748S at Gingerman, my moron buddy was removing me wheel (Ducati/brembo 3 spoke) and snapped off my valve stem.   Nobody at the track, not even the tire truck had the right size valve stem for the wheel.  I had to drive 4 hours to get a new one, and missed the whole day.   >:(

What do you ride?  If it's a Ducati, let me know if you need any parts.  I have a garage full.  I love my Italian twins, I grew up on them.  I will never give them up, but at the track, racing..  :-/
