I'm curious what frequency the safety and corner workers are using at different tracks around the Midwest Region.

I'd like to program a radio and listen in on whats going on while I'm waiting to go race. There is alot of lay over time waiting for races at times.

I'm especially curious what the frequency is used at Blackhawk Farms, being I'm at that track most of the time.

I'd also like the frequency for Road America. That would be great to listen in while the AMA guys are racing.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Nick

All:

MARRC's frequencies can be found on our web site at www.marrc.org

Then click on the safety crew link.

Does anyone know if the frequencies used are Narrow band (12.5 Khz) or wide band (25khz)?  ::) ???

I'm going to guess it's narrow due to the type of handheld.  You an engineer or something?  Me WB9A!

Nick, sorry I'm slow with this, I had to find my scanner.

BHF's cornerworker freq is 152.315

Eddie, I'll give you $5 if you'll show me how to use the cheapo Radioshack scanner I bought.  I'll be darned if I can figure it out. :-/

I've got a 'spensive one I can barely figure out. They must have the same engineers for all their stuff. ;) ::)

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Yeah, I really feel dumb for not being able to figure it out.  I just turn the thing on and listen to static and wonder why I spent good money for it.  It makes me feel like I'm eavesdropping when I actually hear something on it.  Oh, I guess I am!  :-[  :)

The frequencies for BHF are 171.045 and 152.325. I got those off the web site listed above.

I'll bring my Radio Program Software just in case they aren't the rite ones.

If anyone needs help in Scanner Operation 101 I'll be at BHF on Saturday the 8th.

Just look for AM 444 on a Silver SV.

FYI, The PA frequency at BHF doesn't always work if your scanner is too far away from the mike.  We pit pretty close to the tower, but the mike is portable so it depends on where the announcer is standing.

Bottom line, don't rely on the scanner to hear the PA.  I just lock mine on the cornerworkers anyway.  They always have the scoop.
