Firebird TC cancellation

Instead of cancelling this race due to conflicts with the Pacific region race, why not make it a non-points race?  That way the people that were planning to race it could and the people that were sitting the fence due to points in both events could go on to race thunderhill without worry.  I was planning to make this my first team challenge but I guess it's not going to happen.
