Jeff

So, I sit here trying to prioritize everything between now and Road A, a mere 2 weeks away.  I have:

Finish sanding 2 sets of bodywork
Prime/Sand/Paint/Sticker bodywork
Pick up bike from Drucker's (8hr round trip jaunt w/pickup and lunch)
Re-gear bike
Mount new tires on spare wheels
Install new brake controller in new van
Organize spares
Clean out trailer
Prep generator
Load trailer

Damn...  Now that I've laid it all out it doesn't seem too bad.  But I've also got this new hot tub sitting in my back yard which I REALLY want functional for when I get back from Road A.  For that, I need to:

Finish digging 8" deep hole for pad
Wire to main box (brother will do tomorrow)
Build concrete frames
Find somewhere to get gravel on a Saturday
Pour concrete
Figure out  how to move a 650lb tub onto the new concrete slab...

My kids are on spring break now.  I guess I could make them do some of this!  ;D  Man will I have ONE UGLY bike  ;D
Bucket List:
[X] Get banned from Wera forum
[  ] Walk the Great Wall of China
[X] Visit Mt. Everest

 I need to work out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My legs were jello yesterday.

Paul gets the motor back on March 29th and THEN he dives into the wiring harness.   ::)

Motor and exhaust is installed and he will finish the wiring harness today (I certainly hope there's no problems).

He needs to break in the motor and take it down for dyno tuning.

What is left to do....

Get the motorhome out of the barn (Dawn)
Change oil and rotate tires (Paul)
Pack the trailer and motor home (Dawn)
Repaint and sticker body work (Paul)
Build an aluminum subframe (Paul)
Rebuild his slip on (Paul)

Needless to say we will be at RA, but Paul won't be racing (he'll be working corners so be sure to "wave" to him on your way by).  He doesn't want to take is brand new $$$$ motor where there is sooo much WOT.

Blackhawk....  heh heh heh.....  NOW that's a different story!

Maybe Sunday I'll take my bike out of the trailer and see if it will start. ;D
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I've gotta STILL:

Wait another 1.5 weeks to get my bodywork for Sharkskinz.

Take the bike to my mechanic to put the rear shock/fork kit in (have the parts, not a big deal.)

Send them off for paint which will take a week to get back.

Change the cheap Dunlops on there now and put a set of DOT Michelin on.

Finish Saftey Wiring (if I wanna run WERA with her  ::) )  CCS regs are done.

That's about it.  It cost me a bunch of money, but I got her set up quick.  I'll take some pics and post shortly.

I still need to learn to go faster  ;D

The bike's done and I plan to touch *NOTHING*, only suspension adjustment and playing with sprockets...  Now that I've said that I'll probably find a deal on a big bore kit or cams or something  8)

DON,
I just hope that learning and doing go hand in hand ???
for me I mean...with all the technology out there...it
is getting harder to just ride the wheels off of it.

The learning was made simple and to the point. I think we all took a lot away form yesterday.

" ITs a progressive state"
We learned things that will make u faster but you keep learning and u have to practice. Well I do at least.

Smoke,
I was being serious... I mean...and anybody else
chime in too....are club racers getting closer to factory performance? I think that the line is getting thinner and thinner don't you?  I keep thinking of my Daytona experience...which don't get me wrong turned out pretty good...but I literally got "Smoked"
on the banks..and I have a Super Sported motor.
These were 600's passing me like I was on a Moped.
Shorter tracks are a different story for sure, but, depending on your financial situation, a great rider
could be left in the dust by a well funded lackluster
rider with big brakes and lots-o motor. Skill still plays
the biggest part of it all, but back to my original question:
Are club racers slowly closing the gap on factory type
performance? And, with all of the big HP numbers coming off the assembly line, will we have to buy new to stay competitive?  Nevermind, I guess I know the answer to that already...YES.
so does practice even matter as much anymore when you have to compete against guys with 10-15 more HP.
I need to race.
