Andy F. From New Berlin, Wi. turned the fastest Am. lap time of the year at Blackhawk farms 1:15.73 in his last race of the day on the BAKER RACE GEAR/MIDWEST AXXION CENTER prepaired Suzuki GSXR 600 SS. Andy was winning the majority of his races all weekend on his 600 and knew he could run even faster. With some fine tune adjustments made to the suspension by Brian Baker W/BRG and Andy making adjustments to his corner entry and exit in turn 6A he recorded this 1:15.73 (confirmed by his AMI lap timer) on his Supersport legal GSXR 600. This may be the fastest lap time ever at Blackhawk Farms Raceway by a true first year Am.

I was up there on Sunday just checking out the races.  All I know is that Andy #19 and #966 (I've never seen or heard of him before) were on rails Sunday.  I got a kick out of watching 966 beat Andy in one of the middle weight races.  Finally someone who can run w/ Andy;)  .  I got both of them at high 1:15s in that race both on 600s!!!  Talk about walking away from the pack!!   That's crazy for an amateur!!  They both better be moving up next year.  Cuz I thought that I was fast running high 19s :P :P
Andy #19 is flying!

DanO966

Hey guys.  Andy was a machine Sunday, god is he fast!!  I need to work on my starts so I can get behind Andy right away.  I was able to do that in the MW supersport race on Sunday and dice w/ Andy for just about the whole race.  I was able to get the draft in our dragrace to the finish.  The fastest time I saw on my lap timer was a 1:16.20, Sunday.  I can't wait until next year.  I'm gonna do my suspension (revalve my forks and get a new shock) I want to see 14s!  haha

But Hat's off to Andy for the Record!!  1:15.73 is crazy fast....for an amateur!
He was on a rail!
Plus he races very Clean!!

Yep,

Hats off to Andy and Dan for that matter.  I logged my personal best of a 1:17.2 on my outdated, under horsepowered but extremely well Trackside Engineering Suspension tuned F4 (come on Baker, you knew I had to toss that in  ;))

I had a great time in the SuperBike race with Dan (Andy kept pulling steadily away from me from the start).  I had 2nd place nailed, but Dan managed the pass after I held the line from him and made him work for it  ;D  I made a run and was next to him through turn 7 on the checkered, but just didn't have the motor...

Congrats to everyone who has been improving this year, and those who've just managed to get out there and have fun!

LMFAO...lol
Wheelies Rule!!  I did a stand up down the back straight (from6gate to 7) and got yelled at.  I'm glad I wasn't hit w/ the fine!  But I'll have to refrane from the wheelies cuz I don't think CCS likes them?
BTW nice ridin' O and way to hold your line in t6 (race 15 i think) I was passing everyone there all day and then you held me off! Nice work!!
R U going expert next year or not?
See your next time!!

Yeah, they warned everyone via the announcement system (like that did any good) and I didn't hear it so I got socked.  Oh well, it could have been worse.  $50 is better than $100 ;-)

I knew you could appreciate it.  Last BHF weekend, you did the same to me in the bus-stop when we both went past a lapper.  This time when you came up, I saw the wheel come under me and though "hell no" ;-) Resistance is futile though I guess :-)

Yep...  Last year was my first year, and I raced like 4 weekends and had 500 pts.  They put me expert for this year and I declined.  With that, I figured this would be the last year I'd be extremely competitive so I've been giving it my all.

I have no choice on expert next year, & I'm looking forward to it...

all you amateurs lapping in the teens impress the hell out of me. 1:15.73 is inconceivable to me. I'm struggling to break 1:22's and it seems like you guys do 17's at will. Truly amazing. Hope all you guys turn expert next year  ;D give us slow guys a chance please?

GPgofast

If you think that is something, AMATEUR Kane Lansky set a new track record at the Las Vegas Classic Course this weekend with a time of 1:19.6. The FASTEST EXPERT rider pulled a 1:19.8, both times were under the existing lap record.

Most all of the amateurs (if not every last one) will be expert next year.

As for lapping in the teens?  It'll come around.  Last year, I was consistently in the 21-22 range, with a few 20's and 1 1:19.98.  This year, my goal was to consistently turn under 20's and touch 1:17.

It took some time and a LOT of work (technique, suspension, etc) but it came...  The biggest thing to note is that the fastest laps you'll ever turn will be your easiest laps.  They will just flow, and you'll have no idea how fast you're going, but you will see places where you can go faster even still...  It's very zen-like...

Nice!  8)
I got busted taking the checkers back in March at Gateway.  Pulled a 3rd gear wheelie on my gix-six coming onto the backstraight and rode it down into turn 1.
When I exited the track there were about 6 CCS officials there to greet me :D
After they were done chewing me out, they were super cool about it :)
Everyone who saw it said it was tight ....even the CCS officials (when they were done yellin' at me) ;)
