Pardon my noobieness once again, but my memory sucks and I can't find it in black and white in the rules. I'm 99% sure, but is ROC gridded by regional points for the year? So if someone were to register now, it doesn't mean jack because it depends on what they do (points) for the year, right? If Joe in the SE has 1000 pts and Fred in the SW has 1000 points, who gets the better grid, the one who pre-entered first?

If all this is in the rules, a simple post of the Para # would be greatly appreciated.

regional point leaders on the day of pre-entry deadline will be gridded first, by order of entry. The rest of entries will be gridded by regional standing positions NOT points. (some regions may have more races than others therefore more points). The tie breaker is date of pre-entry.

I don't know if there is any benefit in registering soon. The deadline is usually the 3rd friday or Sept. Just send it in by then you should be good.

I see you are gunning for a regional championship this year?

I have a different plan for the year :) you may not even see me much lol

I don't think they will let you pre-enter the ROC this early, especially considering they don't even know where it will be held this year. Rumor floating around the paddock is homestead but no one will confirm it.

Thanks for the replies. Regional Champ? I highly doubt that. I was just inquiring...early. :)

What the heck are YOU doin this year??

I hope it isn't homestead... I can't imagine that drive, and I'm close to there with respect to people that're coming from the west. It's a LOOOOONG way down there.  :-/

Actually now after looking at it, that might not be so bad... That track looks pretty cool. I assume we don't do either of the Nascar turns, just the infield?

I liked Daytona, but other than the need for Bizalls, there really isn't a lot of technical skill required to WOT around the banking. I do admit I need to work on my drafting skills, but first I need someone to draft with. Sucked not having anyone around to 1. draft or 2. get a pull from. I ran those times where most everyone is either considerably faster or considerably slower. Looking at the laptimes, the top guys were 54-57, then it was spread thin from 1:58-2:04, then alot more people in the 2:06-2:10 range.
I don't know, that's what I noticed, and I only had 1 decent start that allowed me to hang with a few riders that could give me little bit of a pull. The rest I started too far back where I couldn't get with them off the line to get that pull I needed. No worries... That's why I was asking though. If I can start at/near the front, sure the superfast guys will go on they're way, but eventually that one guy who does 1-2 seconds faster than me will get by and I will get that tow. I'm not disappointed with a 2:02.5 for my first time there...  :-/

hey you drafted me in the sportbike race. That race I did 2:03's, solely because I caught the group infront of me so I can get a draft. you are right thought, in the CCS races, there are always about 6-7 people doing 2:06's, and fighting each other race long, and I got stuck with that group. The next groups are doing 2:03-04's and they are together. You started way in front of me, and you were able to stay with your little group, and me, on the 11th row, couldn't get away from my little group. So the lap times just bunched together. Sportbike was gridded by times, I rode by myself pretty much the whole time in qualifying, and got gridded a bit before the rest of my races, on the 10th row, which is first wave :) then I moved up a group to the guys that are abit faster so I did their times (03-04)

Quotehey you drafted me in the sportbike race. Are these two statements about the Sportbike race? Because I started by myself 50 feet behind the 1st Group of 2nd Wave, which wasn't ahead of you, it was dead-arse last (46th ). Though I did catch...and subsequently pass... your group  :P And dare I assume that you ran 2:03's that race after I got by you and gave you a pull. I'm just ribbin ya, but I think that might have been the case  ;)
Getting spread out is inevitable in that race, the fast guys are already in the front and are going to check out. I thought it was kinda fun to play catchup, but had I started with my peer/time group, and with my usual decent starts, I may have been able to do better. All my fault though for not qualifying.  :-/

What are you doing this year!??!

r6_philly

ya ya ya I told you I was slow already, in the garages. I was talking about the CCS races. There was no chance of catching the group infront in the sportbike race, I think they running 2:00 and 01's, I don't even remember seeing them in the second half of the race. I couldn't draft you, you got around the 2 other guys pretty quick. I passed them initially and wanted to pull away, but can't get away clean, end up settling for a draft to the finish line, but got tangled up with Peris on the last lap, so didn't get those 2 guys.

Me? Me go FX racing :) I will go to most the FUSA rounds, when I can, regionals at summit and do a couple of races. Further ones, like VIR and Roebling, I don't think I will be going. I want to work on getting faster this year, and I can do that without going to races and without spending money :D regional racing as cool as when I started :p I am going to be selective and no spend too much money racing at regionals.

Front group for Ams or Ex? I know dave was doing 57s in sportbike. That may have been when he got into the 56s. And he finished 11th.

I don't mean front front group

I mean the group in front. you got the 55-56 group. you got the 57 group. you got the 59 group, and then you have the 01-02 group. Then so on.

Front AM's were doing 05-07's that weekend on 600's. except a couple of 04's here and there

Super Dave

Like Nate said, 57's for me, then somewhere a real low 56 in Sportbike.  7th to 11th all coming together at the line.

Front guys were probably running in the 53's a head of us.  Don't have any sheets ahead of me though.

DiSalvo qualified under a 1:51 on his R6,
