What happened to Honda in the 600 SS race?

Has the class suddenly turned into a Non-Honda class?

Jeff

That was disappointing.  There were some class changes though which Honda was running the 600's in.

A few years ago Honda said they would not run their superbike riders in the supersport race because it was just too much.  I just always figured they'd bring on other riders for the 600 races.  I guess not...
Maybe they didn't get my resume  :D (oh yeah, maybe they DID  :o  :-/  :'( )

Honda chose to go cherry picking in the FX class instead.  Congrats Duhammel, you're assured another championship against a group of privateers

Honda is running FX because their SS bike is a piece of crap and they need to be able to work the thing over a la WSS to get it to perform.  Only thing is, no other factory teams showed up for AMA FX and they still did not run as fast as Disalvo in SS.

Either this was by design as there was no competition and they did not want to take the risk. OR...the RR is a bigger piece of crap than stated before.  I read on Superbikeplanet.com that the riders were complaining that the Last Years Leftover Dunlop Superbike Slicks they were using was preventing the bike from turning.  That was their exuse for the slow times.

I wonder why all the semi pro teams using the RR switched to the R6 after Greenwood broke the record at Loudon last year???

Congrats Adam, saw you on TV :) Did announce they are going to use the 112% for qualifying or they only doing the 110% in superbike?

we raced a bit last weekend, but I couldn't find where you were pitted, I wanted to say hi. Saw you come in on the crash truck in superbike qualifying, glad you are ok.

Gotta go with Web and R6 on this one.  (sorry Jeff)  They are wussing out and don't want to take on the other factories in stock trim.  Same thing goes with Superstock and Superbike...

Hey, I don't blame them.  You gotta advertise wins, and they wouldn't happen in Supesport and Superstock. :-/

I'll give it to you that the R6 is an incredible bike and probably the best choice for supersport racing.  Sponsorships do a lot for me personally though, and they're just not there on the R6...

I'm picking up what you're laying down.  That is why I am on a Suzuki and not an R6. ;D

Honda is know for making good streetbikes and bikes that can become good superbikes with a whole lot of HRC massaging.  CBR600RR, RC51, RC45...the list goes on, we'll see if the CBR1000RR follows this as well.

I bet we'll see this with the 1000RR, it will be real fast in AMA superbike, but the privateer Hondas in SuperStock will get wasted by the privateer Suzukis (and the factory yamahas...well that's a different story).

On the World scene the RR is THE 600 to have, though...must be kind of like how the Ducati 99x kicks ass over seas, but can't find a podium in the US!
