Sandbagger? Nope, not me. I wouldn't use such a derogatory term for a friend. Others might, but not me  ::)

Sadly I will be unable to let you pass me at Streets as I will be on a sunny beach in Maui. I did try and persuade Lorraine that the Holiday Inn Express in Palmdale was just as nice but she wasn't buying it. So, sadly I will have to wait a little longer before being thrashed by the fast kids and the <cough> amateurs on 180bhp GSXRs.

Have a safe one.

QuoteIs Zac alright??

How did it happen??

Here's the pics of the bike & a short story of what happened:

But Zac is fine.  He had to go on travel for work early this morning.  I talked to him this evening, and he has a few bruises and a sore arm from the impact.  I guess the crash looked pretty bad, according to the spectators that saw it.

So the chip in your thumb must be the "crunchy" feeling thing?  Ugh.  Hope they'll be able to figure out a plan when you go back in on Wed.  Heal up soon.

No more crashing for either of you boys!   ;)

Thanks everyone for the nice words, too bad Simon I was looking forward to racing with you at Streets. I heard your name at the banquet too, won some awards, good job!

Trophies eh? I think it was for 2nd oldest on the grid - after John  ;D

I would have loved to have been there but it's too far and Matt has put some sort of Firebird curse on my bikes. Instead I spent the weekend testing rain tires at Thunderhill.

Look forward to seeing you guys at Vegas or Streets in June and keep the race reports coming!

Simon, you guys are still youngsters... I realized that I could cut 8 years off my age, and then cut it in half and still be older than these new kids.  :o

They were all going good.

I got in on a late flight the night before and my skirt was up when I saw the rain clouds, so I was spectatin. Spectatin sucks by the way...

Uhhhh....3rd oldest. ;D

Okay, if you're not gonna call Matt a sandbagger, I will.  Sandbagger! ;D

Decreasing_Dave, wtf?  Did you go down again, or have you been using the right hand so much for other "purposes" that you dislocated your thumb? ;)

Yea, I got a nice trophy in the mail for being the oldest.  :o

Elaine- They were not filming during the Am UNGP but I saw Zac's crash.  The bike was just sliding along fine until the footpeg dug in and then roll about 4 times, catch about 8 feet of air and flip 5 times midair then slam to the ground and roll 4 more times.  Zac got off lucky on that one!  The bike however would need some love to the frame I'll bet!  And to all- Elaine did not mention she pulled down four awards at the banquet!

Thanks!   ;D  The little motorcycle racer trophies are cool.  I got the bigger brother at Daytona, so they all match well together.  Though I did give one to my parents and one to Zac's parents for all of their support.   :)

Thanks Corey, I cringe when I hear all the eye-witness reports.  The bike looks to have been pretty lucky too.  It looks like it landed upside down, on the tank and tail section.  The tank acted as a "crumple zone" and absorbed much of the impact energy.  So far I know the forks and both wheels and still straight, and preliminary measurements on the swingarm look good, so hopefully the frame is still straight.  I wish I would have had the motard for that crash, it probably would have still been ridable.

Dave - I hope that hand heals up quick.  I think we need to wrap you in bubble wrap over your leathers.

As far as who's fast in the AMs, watch out for Vince on the TZ250.  He finished 1st OVERALL in LWGP beating both Long and Catching.  I think he was 2nd in ULGP as well.  And I KNOW he hasn't even got his jetting and gearing dialed in yet.

Jimmy Wood was also flying, he lapped me in GTU and I got 2nd!  I did get to pass him in ULGP while he was on rains on the drying track, but all that did was give him a front-row seat for my get-off.
