SV650 Cartridge Emulators
« on: February 19, 2004, 09:55:33 am »
Is this something I can install myself or should I have a professional do it?  I'm sure I can change the springs but I don't know about these things?

They are not very difficult to install. I installed a set on an FZR600. You do need to fully disassemble the forks. The compression holes on the damping rod have to be drilled larger. I had to modify the bottom of the spring (grind the ID) for the emulator to fit properly. The preload spacers may have to be modified to compensate for the height of the emulators.

AFAIK all the suspension companies are closing at least some of the rebound holes on the SV damping rod.

The emulators are fairly easy to install,  but there are a few other details involved in building a good race fork.  We offer full suspension service's by qualified Traxxion Dynamics Certified mechanics here at Lithium Motorsports.  Also,  Traxxion Dynamics has a brand new SV damper rod available that is cnc machined with all the holes already machined to the proper sizes.  It is a really sweet part.  We can help you with these parts and will be glad to answer any questions.  You can contact us (Rob or Ryan) at Lithium Motorsports (712) 546-7747.  Good luck
