Crap!  Just over a month away, I still need a rear wheel, and who know's what else for my MZ, too dang cold to work outside and I can't bring it into my condo!  Still need to pick up (pay) my SV and then start getting that ready.  Been doing some alright OT at work tho.   :o :o :o

Cool, wasn't sure if it was in the plans or not.  Just don't do any "modifications" along the way!!   ;D

I will be there-this will be my first race weekend!  I am just hoping it doesn't snow!  :'(

I will be ready soon-my sprockets have been on backorder for a while though so I just hope they show up, and just need to paint my tank and bodywork and I am ready to rip!

If this is your 1st race weekend ever, do you already have your Amateur license, or are you going to take the school that weekend? Heartland Park was modified since we raced there last so that will help new guys to blend in a little with the experienced Amateurs, plus the fact that it's the 1st event of the season. It might be a little cold at that event, but hopefully just in the mornings. :) I would bringing a variety of warm and cold clothing to wear while racing, and be prepared for the possibilty of rain too (I have a 2 piece rain suit I wear over my leathers, just don't buy a cheapy 1 if your going to buy 1).

Try using the number 0 in your name like this, SP00NER. That gets around the censor.

Welcome to CCS and this board, have a great season! :)

I am from kansas city so I have done a few trackdays at heartland-what did they change?  I know sometimes they go right at the end of the dragstrip but I have always turned left.  I did hear that the main straight itself was changed somehow.

I will be doing the school that weekend-do I need to pre-register for that or just show up?  I hope to get some tire warmers before then too-I have a feeling they could be very benificial that day...

Weather can be anything that time of year.  Rain seems to be an often occurance at MAM in the spring, but not as bad here.  I just want it dry and over 40 or so that way I can at least have fun.  I am sure I will come up with a lot more questions between now and then!

If your taking the Learning Curves school, which I believe is on Saturday, I would call Rick Brewer at the school and just kinda casually give him an informal pre-registration over the phone. It helps him to get an idea of at least some of the people that may show up that weekend for the school. Rick is a great guy and will probably answer any question you have reguarding what you need for that weekend.

The change made was the elimination of the dragstrip use for motorcycles that are roadracing there. Now before you get to the transition to the dragstrip you go onto the hot pit lane closest to the dragstrip (they were supposed to add a new turn to access that lane). Then race down to the end of that lane and they added a section that chicanes to the left slightly and continues thru what use to be grass while paralleling the dragstrip. That leads to a new left turn that blends into the original left hand turn 1.

Here are some pictures from a few months ago during construction, though I don't know if it's been completed or not.  http://www.kcrscca.org/hpt_const.htm

 Welcome Nick!
Is Topeka as rough as they say it is? Can't be any worse than these U.P. roads I train on :). As far as cold goes Last April BHF they had to salt a couple corners! I got my liscense that day. Instructors stayed inside ::)Hands were freezing. I WILL have a set of grip warmers with me this year. Rains not to bad either, in fact I kinda like it...
