Anyone know what the gate fees are? Or what they were last year?  ???

Team_nuclear123

If my memory serves me correctly, they were $20 for the weekend.

They do not allow early entry to the track Friday, and pit space is limited....

CCS

Here we go.....

$10 for Saturday only
$15 for Sunday on only
$20 for a weekend pass.

Is it possible for us to pre-pay for family members/spectators that may arrive later on Sunday?  We'll be there when the gates open, but if I could pay for our parents & leave their names at the gate, that would be great.

This is just my 2 cents but I think $15 for gate fee is ridiculous for 1 day.  Wasn't it $10 last year?  Why don't you charge racer's more and spectators $5 or something.  I would like to invite some friends and co-workers to the races but no way am I going to knowing the gate fee is $15 a piece.

Exactly why I want to at least pay for my parents.  I can't ask them to pay $30 just to see their own kid race.  They won't even be able to attend for the entire day, anyways.  I agree, $5 each would be more reasonable.

Personally I think $5.00 is a little cheap.  Heck, to watch the oval track and drags in this area the gate fee is $11.00.

Another track that I race at here in the SW charges $5 gate fees, and has fewer spectators that show up than Firebird East.  Yet they survive just fine.  Cheaper fee = more incentive to attend.

Ahhh.. The Great Gate Debate!
Gate fees are set to help pay to run the event.  This also helps keep the racers entries low.  I saw just two riders who are willing to pay more to race so the gate is lower.   :-/

As far as the "other" track.  That tracks' operating expenses are wayyyy, wayyyy lower than that at Firebird.  CCS does not get sweet heart deals to rent tracks like other clubs that now have no place to race.

As far a other type racing and their gates-  Most Moto-X tracks here charge at least $10 if not more for less spectator ameneties (believe it or not- there is less!)

Spectators are expensive- when you have a event where spectators may show up- expect your insurance to double.

As far as leaving money at the gate Elaine, I would recommend against it- the poor girls that have to sit out there have enough money that is not theirs to keep track of!  Tell your guests to let us know they are there and I can announce over the PA they are there and you can go greet them- Sound OK?  See you and Zac there!

Nah..it's ok.  They can find us pretty easily.  I'll just warn them ahead of time to bring $$.   ;)

See ya out there this weekend!   :)

CStem I do understand what you are saying but at this point the cost of insurance for CCS is a fixed cost.  It doesn't matter how many people show up at the event . . . I'm assuming.

From my perspective it goes like this.  If it is $5 for spectators, I'll probably have 10 people I know that I would invite and they would show up . . . that's $50.  If the gate fee is $15, I will not invite anyone because I think it's a ripoff . . . that's $0.

No Econ degree to figure that one out.  We have enough problems getting people to the track . . . it's not like they are coming to watch Michael Jordan race or anything! :o

When the gate fee was $5 or even $10 dollars- the gates numbers did not go up or down significantly.  Most spectators will show once or twice a year regardless of the price (I said most for all you 'but' and 'if' folks  ;))  When the gates do not drag the spec's in the cost gets passed on to the racers which would cause lot's of bitching and moaning.  Also, if it was not clear (probably wasn't-my bad), when I equate insurance to spectators- it is not based on the number of specatators (no shit) but the fact that you have any spectators- from 1 to 1000- the price goes up.  Not just insurance either, many tracks local city codes require a set amount of space be set aside, enough fresh water and/or toilets be in place and the list goes on.  At some other events I have been to, it actually cost the track and promoter more to have spectators than the money they brought in.  And if you or anyone else has Jordan's phone number, give it to me.  I'll challenge him to a race he can't refuse!
