BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I've had a rough few weeks at work, and I needed a good laugh.  Torque was just the ticket!
I really liked it, but that probably has to do with the fact that I walked through the door expecting a steaming pile of doggie doo, and therefore wasn't disappointed.  In the whole "Fast and Furious, Biker Boyz" genre, this movie was more watchable than most.  There was a lot riding in that movie that was purely computer-generated bull.  It actually made the "Mission Impossible" chase look believable.  But you absolutely have to go into the movie with the attitude that you're going to see pure fantasy.  This really isn't an impossible attitude to have.  Without it, James Bond movies wouldn't be any fun either.
I loved it when the hero had to ride back to LA with all the cops looking for him, so he said "I live my life a quarter mile at a time."  His girlfriend rolls her eyes and says, "That line is such bull$hit!"  Oh man, I nearly fell out of my seat!
Hey, was I the only one who thought that the "Bad" biker chick reminded me a lot of someone us midwest guys all know and love? ;D
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I was thinking the same thing.  For a moment I thought she was working on new sponsorship.

okay now I know who they're talking about. Must be the pretty gal on the 66 bike.  ;)

Dawn, MAYBE???

and just to chime in on the movie....

Are not all movies fiction???

the James Bond reference is what I was looking for...

I respect everyones opinion, and mine is seeming to be quite diff...

I think the reality is that if we made a movie, it would be alot like a race... pretty boring to even some of us...

I'm trying to say that of movies all together, I'd rather see some computer generated race/chase scense over some ........ (fill in the blanks)

what kind of movies do you like?     drama? love stories? scientific?

But I DO think that MAYBE we should get together and make OUR OWN MOVIE!!! show em how it should go!!!
anybody got ANY experience??

I liked both movies......... but because I give major credit to whoever puts bikes on screen!

guess I'm partial...

tho, Biker Boys had TOO much story, and not enuff BIKES!!!

kinda the same for Torque, but not as bad... decent time for the bikes... but I need MORE BIKE RIDING!!!

ya kno wutt I mean???

I can say the movie was entertaining, but the acting and the talk about the sprocket to chain identification was just far fetched.

Ice Cube definitely over did it.  He was definitely not a "Larry" Fishburne.  He should have just been himself.

I don't mind 007 style stunts and fantasy, just blend it into reality more.  For the real rider, let alone, real racer, when they took the sport bikes off road, that was more than just unbelievable.  That girl-girl fight scene was just too long.  I actually thought it was an advertisement for Mountain Dew and Pepsi.  Ya know, got to get the sponsors some pub.

I just think that if no one is going make a more realistic movie about sportbike, sportbike riding, or the sportbike lifestyle, then the public will lose interest, then no else is even going to attempt to make another movie.

Some of the best motorcycling I've have seen in recent movies was in the Matrix 2.  Long ago, I would say Tron was the ultimate fantasy.

There's got to be a way to be realistic/fantasy with a good plot and acting.  Maybe it will only fit into a film festival environment, but that's fine with me.

Blah...blah...blah...

I'll write the screenplay.  My novel is coming along, but it took a hit when Laura bought us a playstation...
Unfortunately, all the umbrella girl stuff would have to be background shots if the movie were based on my book.  I do a great job writing about racing, but not so good when it comes to writing about sex.  They all say you should write about what you know... :-[
