I am considering riding with CCS this year and was wondering if CCS requires transponders?  If they do, do they rent them or do you have to buy them and what kind do they use?(Does it even matter what kind?)

Also, anyone running supermotard and if so, in what class?  Is there a special class for them and if not are they competitive at all??

Why can't I find my thread once I post it?

Transponders fees are built into the race fees that you pay for at each event. You don't have to purchase anything as far as I can recall, CCS will give you one at every event that you simply return at the end of the weekend.(you keep the mounting bracket)

As far as SM bikes, I've got no clue how many are out there, but they are there, and there are classes for them.
Come on out and have some fun:)

CCS does use transmitters, but they supply them to you at each event. When you go to registration to enter your races for that event they will issue you a transmitter for that event (plus a free mounting bracket if it's your 1st time using a CCS transmitter). The transmitter is about the size of a pager and just clips into the mounting bracket they supply you. If you run multiple bikes at an event you have to have your issued transmitter on the bike you are currently riding. You are personally responsible for that transmitter for that event, so if you loose it you have to pay for it (at $250 it's highly recommended that you zip-tie the transmitter into the bracket!). If you crash and destroy it all you have to do is bring the broken transmitter back to registration and you will be issued a new one - no charge. If you don't turn your transmitter in before you leave the event for home you will have to pay for it plus a $100 fine for a grand total of $350 (it's a good idea to put a note inside your tow vehicle in an obvious place to remind you to turn it in). And lastly they won't let you just buy 1 for yourself because they are currently leased from the manufacturer, so CCS doesn't own them.
