Region Assignments

How are riders assigned by region?  Is is based upon where you live?  I am in NC and was assigned to the SE last year but I want to be considered MA for 2004.  

How do I go about getting this changed?  ???

     Regional designation is done by zip-code, but it can be kinda screwy. I was always MW region in the past, then suddenly I became GP region without ever changing my address. Who knows how the bounderies are decided!? :-/

     Just so you know, you don't have to race in the region listed on your license. I am listed as GP region yet I race GL & MW regions races also. If your at a triple region event, such as our common MW/GL/GP events, you collect points in ALL 3 regions. So if you place 1st in MWSS and get 65 points, you actually got that 1st place and points in each of the 3 regions (1st in MW, 1st in GL, & 1st in GP regions in the MWSS class for that event). Without even knowing it you could actually be doing quite well in another region if you have alot of combined races with them during the season.

     The only reason your listed as a particular region at all is for CCS to keep track of riders in a general area of the country. Helps them when they need to send out notices to a particular region of the country. You could run our MW region all year with your CCS license (with SE or MA designation) and win championships in the MW region if you were good enough. The region printed on your license really only comes into play when they have 2 racers from different regions with the same number at the same event. In this case 1 of the racers will have to put an 'X' on there number plates, the visitor to that region usually has to display the 'X'.
