Along with all the debate that went on here maybe CCS took all our comments and interest in this subject in to account.

It still won't prevent those higher budget, national teams from entering the "little guys races" but I am glad to see this.

CCS and Formula USA Crossover Classes to Run Separately At Daytona Race of Champions
After experimenting with combining the CCS and Formula USA crossover classes in the Spring, the decision has been made to separate these classes so that a pure CCS National Championship can be awarded. The CCS classes affected are Expert Middleweight SuperBike, Expert SportBike, Expert Unlimited GP, Amateur Unlimited GP, Amateur ThunderBike and Expert ThunderBike. The CCS races will run on Friday and Saturday for the National Championship Trophy, while the Formula USA finals will run on Sunday for the cash and their season ending Championship Awards.

Even though the CCS classes are strictly for National Championship Trophies, there is plenty of contingency money available for the weekend, and all you have to do to get your share of the $226,080.00 is use the products, fill out your contingency form, and turn it into Tech before you take part in your races. It really is that simple. So don't let the opportunity to be rewarded by the people whose products you use pass you by.

Now if you want to talk cash and prizes, let's look at the Formula USA Championship Series races. Between the regular purses and championship bonuses, we will distribute $60,000.00 in cash on Sunday at Daytona USA. Add to that the $140,300.00 worth of contingencies up for grabs by the Formula USA competitors and you have a total purse and contingency of $386,000.00 offered for the 20th Annual Race of Champions. This by far is the most money ever offered for the Fall Classic, so don't miss out on your share, sign up today and make certain you turn in your contingency form, you'll be glad you did!

Now THAT puts a smile on my face!  I'll never be the guy it benefits, but it makes me dang glad for the guys that it WILL help.
If you're out there Mongo, it looks like our debate may have actually resulted in change!  Thanks!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I dont understand?

the article you quoted is for this year's ROC. And the discussion happened after the ROC, so what change has taken place?

I'm thinking this post was meant to be the announcement of CCS National Champions receiving bonus pay outs at the 2004 ROC.

oh right, so my complain helped too  ;D

maybe they can update the site to have the same articles in the mailer on the front page? Then everyone can read about it, current and new racers, and sponsors and others
