I need some help fast.....

Looking at an '03 GSXR 600 that possibly has had the frame head tweaked a little.  The guy replaced the forks but there apparently could still be a problem.  I havn't seen the bike in person and he claims he's had it up to about 60 with no problems.
Trying to look at worse case scenario that it might need to have a slight frame adjustment.

What does GMD charge to check frame alignment?
And what should I expect them to charge me for a minor adjustment to the head tube?

Not looking for concrete numbers here.... just ballpark figures so I would know how to negotiate with this guy.

I would call GMD but I'm guessing that on Thanksgiving eve I won't find anyone to answer the phone.

Thanks,

Millions and millions of dollars! ;D

Yeehaaaww!

I got lucky and someone was still at 4 & 6/GMD.

In case you're interested it's $99 to do the measurements on a prepped bike....  bodywork, steering damper, exhaust and radiator removed.

For a tweaked steering head I'm looking at about $750 total  - measurement, straighten and new head bearings - worst case scenario.

Well, I don't remember off the top of my head.  Measurement, straightening, and optimizing are all separate things.

4&6 is local to me in Chicago...their number is...847-763-9900

A proper measurement might be less than $200, but don't quote me.  Straightening is relevant to how much, I think, but I don't really know.  If you're in the area, call Jim, Shawn, and Ed.  Took great care of me.

I've heard quotes all the way from just the $100 to have it measured to almost $2000 for a full measure, frame/triples straighten, and magic number treatment.

Other than GMD, MD racing also offers frame measurement and straigtening.  http://www.mdracingstp.com/

About the same drive wise as Chicago from St. Louis, maybe save an hour each way.

:)GMD IS ABOUT $750.00 REGARDLESS OF HOW BAD IT IS.ONE PAMENT FOR EVERYTHING FOR THE PERFECT SET UP.I STRUGGLED FOR YEARS SETTING UP MY BIKES AND THEN I RODE A BIKE SET BY THEM...I DID MY FASTEST LAP TIMES ON A BIKE I ONLY HAD RIDDED 3 LAPS PRIOR TO THE RACE AND WON A NT'L AT DAYTONA.BEFORE YOU SPEND THOUSANDS BUILDING A MOTOR MAKE IT HANDLE

Thanks all!

Kevin....  already sent you a reply.

Steve....  Appreciate the idea on another option.  This guy from Kansas City keeps bugging me that I should buy his bike instead of the one I'm looking at.  His has these ugly yellow plates on it and #124 slapped all over.  ;D ;D   .....and for some reason he can't keep air in the tires  ;D

However, the MD set up is not GMD.  The Kyle machine, I think that's what he's using, uses different numbers.  More of a set parameter of numbers for all bikes.  Bit different than what GMD does.

And 4&6 is the only shop, other than a manufacturer, that has won an AMA 600 Supersport National in any recent history, period.

Hey, this Matt Drucker from MD Racing.

Yes, We offer accurate & repeatable Frame Measuring using our Dan Kyle Frame Measuring System.

Right now we have a "Winter" Special price of $75.00 for Frame measurment for all CCS racers & Nesba members. (bike already prepped)

Most frame straigtenings are $450.00

Don't let the price fool you that what MD Racing offers isn't a PREMIUM QUALITY SERVICE

I flat out don't have the overhead that dictatates higher prices.

Based on the time I have in most straightening jobs, $450 is what I feel is a fair price.
