QuotePeople weren't to upset about Barber because they wanted to race there.

You hit it right on the nose.  Barber is way out of the Great Plains region, but was probably worth going to.  But PLEASE give us back Hallett.  That is smack dab in the middle of the Great Plains, and is a fun track!  (Please, no complaining that Hallett is to far away.  Stick to the Great Lakes or Midwest region if it is too far.  Rant:  I can't stand the people that complain that a track is 5 hours or more from where they live.  All except one are that far or more from me.)

PS - Hallett is 10 hours away from me, but is still worth going to.

Our "home" track is BHF which is 4 hours and 15 minutes from our house provided I-90 isn't backed up.  Can I complain because all the other tracks that the MW runs are 8+ hours now that RA is no longer on the schedule?

But that's my point.  I live on the Michigan/Ind. border.  I'm in the Great Lakes region and they sent the d@mn race to Kansas!

I live in Rockford, Illinois (right near BHF at the Wis./Ill. border) and I am considered Great plains? For me driving to Barber or Hallet is about the same distance, 12 to 13 hours. I think I am no more GP region as Barber is, but I would go again if it was on the schedule. My only real complaint is the timing of these events, those southern events for us should be when it's toward the start and end of the season to better utilize the weather at that time of the year.

Here's an idea.
Great Plains:
Heartland Park
Mid America
Hallett
Gateway

Midwest:
Blackhawk Farms
Putnam
Gateway
Road America

Great Lakes:
Gingerman
Blackhawk Farms
Road America
Gratten

That was easy. ;D  (Barber is in the Southeast region :P)

I am in Detroit now, so all the tracks except Gingerman are 6-10 hours away.  Even Gingerman is almost 4 hours, and the Great Lakes Region only had two rounds there.

Where is the Great Lakes  home track?  It seems like BHF is the catch-all for all three regions.  Should it be.  I would like to have more rounds at Gingerman instead of traveling to Gateway twice.

I had suggested on another topic something similar to what KC 124 just suggested. The big difference I think would benefit everyone is to have less events per season / per region, but at the same time more optional races thru going to the other 2 regions races if so desired. This way you could run something like 10 events in your home region, and still have the option of running the other 2 regions events that don't include your own, possibly adding 4-8 more events total to your season if so desired. Those extra events could include 1 or 2 single region events in both of the other regions, and 2 to 4 double region events combining the other 2 together.

Doing this would supply us with a mixture of events, even if just following 1 region. A single region with 10 events would then have something like 1 or 2 single region events, 2 to 4 double region events, and 4 to 7 triple region events. For those of us looking to follow 2 or 3 regions we would then have the option of running 13 to 18 events if so desired, depending on how the events got combined.

Another benefit of this would be scheduling of some of the events would then focus more on tracks convenient to that region, not all 3 regions. This would then possibly allow for more variety between the 3 regions in the tracks used, instead of just focusing on a few tracks. I would definately be interested in having Putnam, Heartland Park, & Brainerd back on at least 1 of the schedules. I have only been to Gratten once before, and have a mixed opinion about the place, but I would be interested in trying it again if on one of the schedules. An event at Barber would also be awesome if it payed points to at least 1 of the 3 Midwest regions.
