I did the FUSA wkend and we didn't have practice.
How do these days work?
Are there practice days on Friday at EVERY event except the FUSA events? Is there a standard cost? (I heard $75??)
I hope to do roebling, but I've never been there, so I'd like to practice if it's available.
Where is the source of info that says which events there will be a practice day or not if such a source exists?

Thanks again for putting up with the new guy. I'll be posting more dumb questions later...

Dawn

Normally at a F-USA event there is not a "practice day" on Friday.  At times, there is one on the Thursday before, but I would check with the track.

Practice on Friday runs through the early afternoon at which time they start running the CCS races.

I hope this helps.

I think I'm confused... on a "normal" aka non-Fusa CCS event, they do CCS races on Friday? I thought it was all Sat/Sun. And thought Friday all day was practice, but again, I'm not sure of all the specifics of it.
So of the many questions, you did answer the one that there is practice at Fusa/CCS events dependent on the track/etc.
Your last statement totally contradicts everything I've heard and/or assumed, so I'm lost...

Maybe it would be easier to ask another way than my 1st post.

Roebling
Barber
Summit (fusa/ccs)
VIR
Summit
daytona

will there be practice for any of these events?
Friday?
What times?
How much?
If as you say there are races on Fri, what races are they? any MW available stuff?

Thanks again

Greg,

Sorry to confuse you, I thought you were only talking about the F-USA events.  If you go to this site, it has the schedules for all of the events....

http://www.formulausa.com/schedule.asp

The practice day prior to the CCS events held on Sat/Sun are held by track.  I would contact them to see if they are running practice that day.

I hope this helps.

alright, great.

So the the cost/times is up to the track too then I assume.

I visit that link quite often, I just couldn't find anything dedicated to practice stuff. I think you just told me why... ;)

I've only done 1 event. bear with me. :)
edit: while I'm at it, any idea when points results will be updated for that weekend (VIR). I'm not in "the running" or anything, but I'd like to see how it added up. Also, who can switch my region from SE to MA?

Greg,

The best way to determine if there is a "practice" day prior to any event is to check the track's schedule.

At Summit http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/SCHEDSP.HTM, CCS has had L-P SRD http://www.formulausa.com/schedule_sportrider.asp prior to the race weekend, but the track is thinking of running their own.

VIR http://www.virclub.com/pages/track_sch.htm "usually" has a track day prior to a race weekend, run by Corner Speed http://www.cornerspeed.net/.

Roebling http://www.roeblingroad.com/events.html management "always" has a track day on Friday.

Barber http://www.barbermotorsports.com/events.html is a new experience for all of us.  Cornerspeed has a practice day there.

At Daytona http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/, Team Hammer http://www.teamhammer.com/ may have an advanced rider school.

You are licensed in the region where your home is, you get points in any region where you decide to race.

Thanks for the info.
I was under the assumption that CCS was somehow involved in the practice days.

And thanks for the info on the licensing stuff.

I've got a lot to learn... :-[
