I just came back from Roebling this week end. I want to express my thanks to all the CCS officials and corner workers ther that did an amazing job. Bill as always at tech was great and all the officails were excellent. The track was super and the weather conditions (thank you lord) were the best. RR people were also great. We had an excellent time and the competition, as always was great. My only comment was that the time between calls should be regular. two minutes between 2nd and 3rd calls (in some races) is a little short. All in all thanks guys and gals.

Ditto is all you have to say? You got wood right?!

I wasn't there to ride this weekend, but the conditions were perfect, etc. Kind of a light showing though. Makes me wish I was able to race.

Yeah, ditto. And yeah, I got wood. Woohoo!

I would also like to thank all the guys who normally would have totally kicked my donkey, for staying home. :-)

And thanks again to Jon-boy, Pooh Bear and Rick Sneezed-on-my-back for being the shiznit and fixing my bike after I biffed. You guys rock!

Thanks for posting!  So often it's only the -bad- things we hear, and not as many of you say -good-things.

I was at Roebling (CCS Registration girl) and I really appreciate the compliments.  We try hard to make it fun (and safe!) for all of you adrenaline junkies!  ;)  I think all of the CCS SE staff share my enthusiasm - we just love motorcycle racing!

We will be back in July. Gal you and the entire staff were/are great. Thanks.  ;)

:-[ Sorry if I rushed anyone.  I try to call first at white flag, second when first bike gets checkered and third call depends on track.  At Roebling, it is usually when last bike is heading to turn 4, VIR when last bike is at 15.

Goal is to minimize the time you have to sit in the hot sun before the 5 minute board comes up.  Normally 5 minute board will be up 1 minute after third call.

The best laid plans of mice and men, oft times go astray ;D

Hmm the calls should be standard 1st at 1/2 way flag 2nd call at white flag and 3rd call at checkered of course with some modifications for changing track conditions or delays.

I think the only thing the calls absolutely SHOULD be is consistent and predictable. Everything after that is gravy.

That said, I have definitely grown accustomed to calls more like Eric said.

Ideally, TO ME, after I hear first call, I have time to go from not-ready-to-race, to ready-to-race before 3rd call is given. That means start the bike to let the engine warm up, take off my regular pitwear (sneakers, shorts, and t-shirt), put on my leathers, etc., remove tire warmers, and take the bike off the stands.

For me, that usually works out to about the same amount of time as it takes a sprint race to run from the halfway flags to the last bike taking the checkered flag.

FOR ME, 1st call at the white flag is definitely not enough time to get ready before the 5 minute board goes up for my race. Unless I sit around with my leathers on, and who wants to do that? :-)
