new-b race fee questions

First let me say thanks to CCS, all the directors, staff and of course fellow riders for such a great event at my first race weekend (VIR). I had a blast and can't wait to race again!

Now, uh. I've got a couple newguy questions.

1st question:
Akra GT events per the "new racer package" says 1st gets $175 2nd: 100 3rd: 80 4th: 75 5th: 70.
I got 4th, but got a check for $70. Is that right? Has it changed and the "package" wasn't updated? Or did I get charged $5 for being a new guy?  :-/

2nd question:
If you enter 5 or 10 races (don't matter) and you enter a purse race, does that count as your "first entry is $70" race, or does your first non-purse race still cost $70?

3rd question:
I preregistered for Barber and had to cancel so I got a refund from CCS. But the refund was $10 less than I paid. Is that $10 a fee for not being able to race that weekend? I didn't see a refund-fee section in the rules, so if someone could show me where that's at I'd appreciate it.

I think that's it for now. Sorry if I'm complaining over nickel-dime stuff, but I'm broke and want to go racing again.

Answers:

1. $70
2.  GT doesn't count for the 1st race fee
3. dunno - RTFM carefully.  Don't rely on the new racer package - it is older than the 03 rulebook.

To answer question 3....

D. Pre-entries canceled in writing prior to the opening of registration will be in the form of payment equal to 100% of the entry fees, less a $10.00 administration fee.

This can be found in section 3.4 Race Procedures in the rule book.
