If a rider DQ's from a Supersport event, shouldn't that rider be listed as having been in the race but DQ'd?  As it is, CCS is not even posting the participant as having raced.

What's the big deal you ask?  Contingency requires a certain number of riders, like 8 for Pirelli.  Given the light turnout at some of the Great Plains races, this 1 rider can be the difference between qualifying for contingency or not!

I thought I got $150 at Roebling in March, but every race I placed in only had 7 people  ::) apparently people keeps crashing out and even though they STARTED (as stated by Pirelli) they didn't show on the result sheet, so no contigency.

Every rider on the grid SHOULD be listed on the results sheet.  Whether they complete one or all laps, DQ'd or crashed they still have a finishing position.  No excuse for them not being on the results.

hmm a rider ineligible for a class but listed in the results yeah that makes sense  ::) sorry that one doesn't fly with me They should not have been on the grid to begin with.

This is my personal view and no way reflects upon any postition I may hold or connection I may have with FUSA/CCS.

Where does the question ask anything about a bike not being eligible for the class?

Eric Kelcher

that IS the question, ineligilbe riders being DQ'd and not showing on results; why else is someone DQ'd?  ::)

It was my understanding that the current CCS rules state that a rider must complete one lap to get scored.

But DNS and DNF should be seperately listed. It really messes up contegency sometimes. Most companies want certain amount of starters not finishers. If 3 people crashes on the first lap, they should be listed as DNF's, not empty grid spots or DNS's.

Ineligibility is only one reason for disqualification. Anyone disqualified during or after an event for other than ineligiblity for the class should be listed on the results. They started the race as contingency requires so they need to be listed on the results.

Bottom line is CCS is the only org not listing DQ's.  It screws us up for contingency.  CCS rules state anyone completing 1 lap should be in the results.  Therefore, I beleive it is not only right but against CCS own rulebook to not list DQ's.

What are the other reasons?

Disqualification means that you have been determined to be not "qualified" to be in the race. In which case, why should you be listed in the results? Being in the results means you get points, right? (If there were 10 in the race, and you are listed as last because you were DQ'd, then you're still 10th, which gets points) And why should you get points if you weren't qualified to be in the race?

I certainly agree that anybody who started the race ought to be listed in the results, IF they were qualified to be in that race. But, I don't see how you can list people in the results without giving them points for the place you list them in, so I don't see how you can list people who were out there, but then found to be not qualified for that class/race.

Another way of approaching this is to consider the real aim of this thread: to get paid contingency. If the company paying contingency says they're only offering it in races, for example, that have a field of 10, and you claim that your race had 10 in it and you want your money, and the fact that it was a 600 Supersport race and one of the 10 showed up on an R1 doesn't matter. Well, then I think that is essentially trying to cheat the company paying the contingency. At least, in spirit.

only way you get a DNF in CCS is if you start a race and do not finish a lap since one lap will put you in the results.

SO I guess this question is now turning to listing those that do not finish one lap??? That might be a legitimate question if DNF's are not shown on sponsor report forms.

I have not seen any results from any org that list DNQ's in the results sheet; I have seen footnotes that someone that has DNQ'd but it is not part of the results. Sdiver who are you thinking of? the AMA results that are shown on RRW are the only place I can think you would be talking about but if you look the DQ's are footnotes.
