Kevin,

According to the schedule http://www.ccsracing.com/schedule.asp the final Western Region Team Challenge event is October 5th @ the Southwest Region Firebird round.  October 5th is ALSO the DOUBLE POINTS Pacific Region race at Thunderhill Park (a 16 Hour Drive away) For those of us who are Pacific Region & Team Challenge racers, we CANNOT afford to miss either race.

I'm currently on the 1st place Spears Racing GT-Lights Team Challenge team and also Top 5 in Expert Pacific Region individual points, fighting for several class championships.  As you can see missing either event would be a very big deal for me. (and for Spears Racing / Bryan Long I imagine)

So I guess what you are saying is that the only people that can compete for the Team Challenge Championship, are Southwest racers?  This is totally unfair.  It has nothing to do with planning on my part.  I live in the heart of the Pacific region and am therefore a Pacific region racer.  The Team Challenge covers both the Southwest AND Pacific regions, but rewards Southwest racers and penalizes Pacific racers, if the schedule is to be run as posted.

Read the bottom of your schedule Sean, the last race for PC is Nov 30-Dec 1 at Streets, Thunderhill is not double points, the last race of the season always is and Streets is it.

The choice was October's Firebird or Septembers Portland race for the Team Challange event. (It just so happens that Portland coincides with Vegas, damned if we do, damned if we don't.)

We did the best we could, and the easiest answer is to get someone to run the TC at Firebird on behalf of your team if you can't make it. That way your team gains in points and you continue your march towards the Pacific Championships.

This was a no win situation for us, just as having all the TC's last year in California was.

Should we just cancel the TC Series for the west coast?

Kevin,

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I believe you when you tell me that TH won't be double points and will schedule accordingly. As for the obvious sarcasm, I'd like to say that it was appreciated, but I can't.

Note: according to the published CCS schedule http://www.ccsracing.com/schedule.asp Thunderhill is still listed as double points. It does indeed list the Nov/Dec Streets date, but does not indicate that it is a double points race.
