636 swap legal for MW classes?

So can one legally swap a 636 engine from the 13-14 zx6r to the 09-12 zx6r and compete?  Or is this illegal?

you would be legal for all but supersport.

Eric, wouldn't swapping a motor limit the bike to GP rules?

what Sam said.. changing motors, to a different size/type motor that did not come in the bike to begin with.. makes it legal for only GP/GT classes. (gtu, mwgp)
Or that better be the case since i dq'd myself at CMP for running a light weight ducati that starts with a smaller motor and now has a larger displacement ducati engine. still 2 valve/air cooled, but we've been led to believe it's only GTL and LT WT GP legal, and team challenge that is gp rules. 

putting the 636cc stock engine in the 600r kawi, would be the same scenario as i outlined above, making it ONLY MW GP and GTU legal ..now, i assume you could do what many of us mw racers do, and bore the 600cc 2mm over, and that would make it a 636cc engine, but it was the same model motor to begin with. The kawi 636 may have many other HP enhancements. i don't know though.

I dont see anything in section 6.2 for superbike that might disqualify it. You cannot "downsize" a bike from heavyweight to compete in middleweight, but it doesnt say anything about increasing displacement or having to use the original cases or engine.

Per section 6.2 (superbike)
"A. Frame and engine cases must be from a production, street use motorcycle, except for single cylinder motorcycles, which may use any frame or engine.

B. The frame must be as originally supplied by the manufacturer on the approved model. Strengthening gussets or tubes may be added. Only brackets or tubes not supporting suspension, engine, or drive line components may be removed. Swing arms may be modified or replaced and rear shocks may be replaced or relocated.

C. Reducing engine size of machines from stock displacement to meet lower class displacement limits is not allowed. (i.e. a bike that is a Heavyweight in origin cannot be re-sized for Middleweight competition.)

D. Any fairing may be used if it meets the requirements of Section 5.

E. Liquid cooling is not allowed unless original equipment on the model
being used."

Staying with same class for frame and motor you are still legal for the same class in superbike. Supersport requires the same motor frame combo as originally supplied(ie a 2015 R6 frame needs a 2015 engine unless the exact same motor was used in a different year, part numbers would confirm this and rider would need to be able to prove this if questioned)
Mixing frame/engine from different displacement classes in superbike the higher displacement would determine class. Ie gsxr 600 motor in gsxr 750 frame would be a heavyweight superbike.

so Eric, what about an 1100 cc motor into a frame that had a slightly smaller motor to begin with ? Is that light wt superbike legal ?? we had been under the assumption it was only GP/GTL legal . I'm not following why putting a bigger displacement 636cc engine, that comes this way from the factory as a bigger/different bike, than the kawi 600, is legal in SB classes..

Greg, Myself, and many others have always assumed engine swap from a different bike leaves the bike only in GP rule classes.
