I sure do keep you guys busy  :ahhh:

How does the pit area work at Homestead?  Can I unload Friday night? Does everyone get a garage? Where do people usually stay that's not expensive (safe parking lot to sleep in the truck is ok with me).

I thought I read it somewhere but can't seem to find it anymore. What time do gates open on saturday and sunday?

And while I'm at it, I looked at the schedule and some events show AM some show EX some show combined and some show split.  Are the split events run one after the other or in waves or just scored separately?

Again thanks for everyones help. Just trying to get all the info I can now.

Combined ex and am races (also some races have combined classes) are done in waves and scored separately. As for when can you get in, garages (usually there are not that many garages so most don't have the opportunity to rent one) and where to stay someone probably will pop in to help ya on those.

Don't worry about asking questions. Best way to learn is to ask.

Some EX /AM races are run separately (larger classes), some are run with a 2 wave start. A few are run combined (like the 250's I think). Ex/am split means same race, different grids. Possibly 2 wave start. Combined means you all line up and race together.

There is no garage RENTAL at Homestead, they are free. They will assign you a spot when you register. You have to vacate the track after practice sat night, and again sunday, so you can't sleep in the paddock. I don't believe you can drop off friday but it's not necessary anyway, there's plenty of room. You wouldn't be able to move in anyway as garages aren't assigned until you register. Don't set up before registration only to find you're in someone's spot. Then that guy goes in someone else's spot and, .......well, you get it.

Gates open 0800 Saturday, 0700 sunday.

If you click on the schedule link, then click on the homestead link, there is some more info. There is usually a hotel that offers a CCS rate, call ASAP as it may fill up. But there are plenty of reasonable places to stay. If that doesn't work, email Henry DeGouw HDpromos@aol.com

thanks for the info on registering before setting up. I have the schedule printed out but by just reading it was under the impression that registration and tech were done at the same time and I was gonna show up w/ bike and leathers lol.

I've been emailing Henry as well and he has been awesome with speedy replies and good information.

So registration/tech shows 8am Saturday morning. does that mean I show up and register with registration form, then go to assigned garage, unload, take bike and gear to tech with sponsor form. and start practice by 9?

Also with contingency, do I list those I'll be seeking contingency from on the sponsor form? Or do I not worry about contingency until after races if applicable?

you have to pick up a contingency form in registration, when you get your entry sheet. Or you can pick one up in tech. The cont. form needs filled out BEFORE RACES START. You can't turn em in after the fact. Tech will look over your bike for the appropriate stickers being on your bike, and check off the tech boxes on the form. Some pay more than others, some pay back more places than others, some don't pay anything at all in some classes.
