Question for the masses:   I have a friend that will pick up a 2014 636 tomorrow and is having it lowered.  She is all but 5 ft.  She is interested in starting track days, but wanted input from other females (elevation challenged) experience.

Any input will help.

thanks, frank

My GF is 5'2" and shes on her toes with her SV650. I can only imagine how your friend will cope with a 636. Its easier to stand with regular shoes on but put leathers and boots on and she wont be able to extend as much to reach the ground.  Lowering the bike and inch will be ok for a beginner but your drastically geometry when you lower the bike. Im interested though so let us know how it goes.

I will keep this posted.  She has been riding for about 4 years now, started on a 250, went to an Iron 883, and now back in addition with the 636.

Becca Caudle rides a 600 and she's 4'10 or 4'11.  Tippy toes for sure, I would replace tail section with superbike tail, that will lower it a bit.  On lowering it, is she just wanting to do some track days here and there and go at a novice pace?  If yes, then its fine but if she starts getting fast, the bike being lowered will cause problems.  Ground clearance as well from a handling standpoint.
Well how could there be two number 1's? It'd be number 11 then?

It sounds like she can handle it. What area are you guys in? Summit Point is a couple weekends and MARRC is putting on the track day. I know my girlfriend will be there for that and she is always looking for tips from the ladies on how to ride better especially since I am such a horrible coach!

Just Track days "eventually."

I wish I could make Summit.  Still trying to put mine back together from VIR.  I plan on being at VIR in Sept.
