Hey everyone,

It is that time again, the Daytona ROC. We are very pleased to be participating at the Daytona ROC once again this year. Many may recall the concerns to letting us, the "250cc ULTB riders" participate. After many conversations with CCS and input from riders, we found that these machines are perfectly capable of racing and CCS allowed us the opportunity to run. The 2012 ROC was a huge success. The class was amongst the largest of the weekend and the entire field was comprised of Spec Class Racing riders running under the Florida Spec class rule structure. While CCS has a more open format, Spec class riders have come to an agreement to run under a more limited rule structure. In doing so, the racing stays very competitive, very economical, and easy to administer.

A quick glimps of the Spec class rule structure.

Limitations

  • Stock engines with 250 maximum displacement (we consider the 300 a class of their own)
  • No Race fuel
  • Dot tires
  • Stock Air box with a filter. After market ok.
Permissible upgrades

  • Full Exhaust
  • 420 Chain pitch
  • Suspension (internals)
  • Rear shock
  • Bodywork Controls
Spec class racing is an AMA charter club comprised of like minded individuals who promote light weight racing under this restricted rule structure. If you share the same ideas about this class and are interested in joining us, please see our page www.facebook.com/specclassracing and www.specclassracing.com

We look forward to racing with you at the Daytona ROC!

Well this year for the first time since 2006, I will not be going to Daytona, all this because the schedule changes of our race from Saturday to Sunday in the last minute.

CHIRINOM

Wow what a race. That was great fun. Thank you to CCS for the opportunity to race at this awesome track. Congrats to the top three riders, Walter Ferreyra, Justin Conolty, and Sabrina La Paz.

The racing was close with the battle for third being elbow to elbow. There was a time where we were four wide on the front banking.

Do the spec class points count toward CCS FL overall points?

Not at this time. Talk to Henry Degowe the CCS Florida promoter for more information. hdpromos@aol.com

Not Henry but Kevin Elliott would be the person to speak with. Henry runs under an affiliation with CCS and so CCS Texas is the governing body when it comes to class structure. Henry has allowed some leeway with both the 250 Spec Class and the Florida Vintage Series in allowing us to race with the normal classes.
