Hello everyone,

Would like to introduce myself.

My name is Henry. I live in New Jersey(Ocean County) I'm a former WERA racer looking to get back into racing and run in The Formula 40 AMT at NJMP. I have an ad posted on the Wanted To Buy forum for a GSXR750 Race Bike. Was hoping to meet some of the riders and talk racing. Possible get some info on the class, and what a typical CCS Weekend is like. Most important, hopefully make some new friends. I;ve heard nothing but great things about CCS and its riders so I'm looking forward to racing near home. Look forward to bench racing.

Safe season too all,

Nice to see another Henry on the page!
I saw GSXR-750 on the private party - for sale page not too long ago, maybe a few pages back.
Not sure of it's race prep status.

Just so you know, starting with the 2012 season, the GSXR-750 is not the most competitive bike for Formula 40.  Before 2012 F40 was a class for up to 1125cc twins and up to 750cc four cylinder bikes.  The GSXR-750 was a very good bike for that class, although many ran their 600s in the class as well.

Starting in 2012, the class was split into F40 (open class bikes) and Middle Weight F40 for 600cc 4 cylinder bikes.  If you get a GSXR-750 you will be racing it against open class (1000cc 4 cylinder 1200cc twins) bikes.  This is fine and people do it, I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this since you haven't picked up a bike yet.

You'll be just fine in the Amateur ranks on a GSXR-750.  If you have the skill and use your noggin you'll kill the 1000cc Amateurs through the twisty parts and get to the front straight long before they do.  Plus, the GSXR-750 is no slouch when it comes to power.  I think the GSXR-750 strikes the perfect balance between an anemic 600cc machine and a unwieldy 1000cc machine.

CCS is a fantastic organization and I have been racing in it for years. I think you will really enjoy it. I also am from New Jersey and have been running F40 for awhile also. I don't know if you are interested but I have a Ducati 1098 for sale that is race ready and legal for the F40 class.
