I've looked everywhere (the ccs website, ama website, etc...), but I cant figure alot of stuff out on the AMA races at Daytona  :banghead: . First, how is the AMA Top noivce award and other AMA awards determined at Daytona? Is it just like ccs or do they use a different scoring system? Im on a 600 and Im just trying to determine what races to enter.

For Top Novice...
Does it just go off the AMA races or are the CCS races included too?
Is it just a total of your points accross all races and the highest points wins?
Or is a performance index like CCS factored in as well?
Or is it simply based on a couple best finishes or certain classes?
Or is it simply discretional based on the AMA representatives opinions?

Other AMA Awards...
First, what other AMA awards are there? I heard there was an overall number one plate or something?
Then Im guessing awards for each class too?

Other Questions...
Is there contingency for the AMA classes? requirements?
I've been told its the same transponder for AMA as CCS, is that correct?
Do we need to do anything different for the AMA races then what we normally do for CCS? Like do we need AMA stickers for tech, any new rules, etc...

:ahhh:  Sorry for all the questions, Im a newb and just trying to get this all figured out  ::) . Ive gotten a little help in a diff thread (thanks to everyone that answered my questions) but i didnt get everything answered so I thought I would make a specific thread for the AMA races at Daytona. I know there were some other people that had questions too so I thought this would be be helpful.

Please share any info you have!

I don't think Kevin checks in here regularly, so you may want to email him directly. The last time I talked to him (at Summit Point) rules and whatnot were still being finalized. For the most part, rules are pretty much the same as CCS.

That. It's not points based. No performance index, and it's based primarily on how you do in the AMA RRGC classes and decided on by the AMA officials. If you don't enter any of the AMA classes, you're not going to win and of the AMA awards.

The AMA Awards are the Horizon, Vet/Senior, and Top Novice. Every winner of the individual classes will get an AMA #1 plate, just like the ROC classes. There's no overall #1, although really, you could consider that the Horizon Award I guess.

I don't know about contingency or the specific rules, I think they're still working on that.
Transponder is your CCS transponder. Tech is the same as CCS, they've done separate stickers in the past for those running the AMA classes, but practice is all combined so there's no specific reason to other than to note those running the RRGC classes.

There might be some minor specific rule difference. I know last year a bunch of people were surprised and had to wire something not required by CCS. I can't remember if that was an AMA tech thing or USGPRU though. So bring a drill and safety wire.

The only other thing that's you have to make sure of is that you MUST be an AMA member to enter the RRGC classes.

aaaand the rules have been posted. http://www.ccsracing.us/

I can't modify my previous post anymore, but AMA stickers are required and will be provided in tech.

Awesome! Thanks for all the info and Im glad the rules are now posted. Just got two more questions on pre-entry...

If you already paid $130 for your first ROC class, do you then have to pay $130 again for your first AMA class or is it just a $90 additional class fee? And for the code section on the AMA pre-entry form do you put the coresponding codes listed on the ROC pre-entry form or do you leave it blank?

Thanks again for any help!

Indicate on your second form that you had preentered a CCS (or AMA) race and then all remaining races are $90.

We had not set the class codes before the form was created, AMA classes will have different codes than CCS classes.
