My son just did his first track day on Lightning and the first thing he asks after his first session was, when is there a race here this track is awesome? This is in a full on down pour to boot! He did about a million laps in the terencial rain all day and still came off smiling at 5pm.

I always loved the Lightning and despite some of it's short comings I still feel it should be on the schedule. So if I missed this discussion please enlighten me. If anything lets see if we can get CCS to consider one of the NJMP dates in 2013 a Lightning Race.

Everyone complained about the paddock. Maybe not enough electricity?

I'd like to see it back on the schedule

Which is kind of funny......I know several tracks with very little electrical outlets.
Generators are a must have as a racer, right?

Nah, I only recently bought one b/c I scooped up one on a good deal and also wanted one for emergency purposes around the house.  I doubt I'll use it much at the track as there is always someone to mooch power off of :D

No. Electrical outlets are standard.

While there are plenty of tracks with, I can tell you that several Midwest facilities are lacking.

In the south all the racetracks save one have a lot of electrical. I wanna say Road Atlanta is one that is lacking.

I agree......having just moved down here, almost everywhere has it. I could've saved myself a chunk of money on a generator! :D

Crappy facilities to work out of, all the way from the control tower & its glitchy electricals down to no air conditioning in the classroom (where registration & trophies locate).  Not enough speakers (nobody can hear announcements) .. no showers .. no food vendor.  Need we say more?

MAZZ77X

I am not sure about the AC and Control tower stuff but there are showers (Very Nice Showers) on the property over at T-Bolt. They have upgraded the PA system and a food vendor can be arranged, and theres always the concession stand over at the F1 Karting track located in the same paddock.

There is plenty of Electric in the Lightning Paddock but it's farther away than it should be. I've been to plenty of tracks with no power at all so it's better than none.

I bet if Joe Volpe (Track Manager Now and Great Guy) was persuaded he could make a lot if not all issues right for CCS to return to Lightning. I have been to tracks that are less than Lightning to say the least. Not to mention it's a fantastic race track!!! 8)

What class do you run them in?
