My friend's sister is selling her Ninja 250 cheap, and I wanted to see if I could race it. Anyone know if we can race these things, or what class it fits it?

I'm too lazy to read through the rulebook right now :)

I think it's competitive in Ultralightweight sportsman. It would be legal in all LW classes also, but not very competitive.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

Yeah, Ultra Lightweight Sportsman was mostly designed for the Ninja 250. As I recall, CCS created it to lure some of the boat loads of AFM 250 Production racers over. In the AFM there's like 50 of 'em at any given event. :)

If you want more races, some people also compete in  Lightweight Sportsman and GT Lights - you'll be outgunned but that doesn't mean you can't have fun!

Ha.. yea, no way I'd race that thing in GT lights or any LW class. I got the pirller for that.

Hm... ULSM... you guys know what else runs in that class? Would a stock 250 be competitive?

Just curious. I'm probably gonna buy it cuz she's selling it w/ 2 helmets for $800, and might want to take it on the track for the fun of it.

All I've ever seen run in ULWSM are Ninja 250's and old VTR250's - in the Pacific/SW regions at anyrate. :)

not much competition either. You would be guaranteed wood at every event. ;D

and for $800, it'd be a great pit bike as well, one that you could actually run to a store with if need be, without the hassle of freeing up your tow vehicle.
