Race Practice

I'm a new racer this year and was wondering how the race practice on Friday's was typically set up? Does one of the Orgs. run it and you pay though it were a typical trackday or is it different? How much track time would I expect if it is not a trackday set up?

Looking forward to getting out there, although I have to say, I literally get an extra 10 beats a minute just thinking about it! lol

A lot of times the local track will host a Friday practice such as Jennings GP April 1st.  Also many times there will also be a racing school on Friday, for new riders to get race certified for the weekend, such as Jennings GP April 1st.  8)

you need to sign up for that event with whoever is putting on the friday track day. Cornerspeed sometimes does, sometimes the track itself puts it on. I would sign up ahead of time, as if the spots are filled you won't get on track. Usually ran like a typical track day, but sometimes it could be based on AM/EX and machine size, or like a track day.. novice, interm, expert. Just depends. You can usually get info on who is putting on the day and sign up info from the www.ccsracing.us website on the page for the event.

So is it limited to racers only or is it a free for all? Are the prices typically the same as any track day with those orgs.? -- How soon are these posted previous to the event?

It would help get you an answer if you identified which tracks you're looking at running.
 
Track days can run the gammut of formats - depending on who is running them. 

If you tell us which tracks you're looking at someone on here will have had first hand knowledge on the structure of Track Days for those tracks.

Hard to talk in generalities with so many Track Day organizations out there.

I will only be doing races at NJMP (Thunderbolt), Summit Point, and VIR - sorry, I didn't think about the fact that CCS is all over the country. lol
