When something is wrong with your bike and corner workers are telling you to get off the track. Get off the track! It's not a option to ride around at 15mph as long as you see fit to. I'm not metioning any names but last weekend at Roebling one guy decides to stay out and keep circling the track at 15mph while we are still racing at speed. I passed him three times. The last time I passed him he was on the inside of the last turn when I came through there at speed. Instead of going onto pit road. Then parks his bike halfway down the pit wall on the track causing a red flag and shortening the race. This individual acted like it was no big deal putting us all at risk and FN our race up. Then he just gets a little slap on the wrist and is back out for his next race. Safety is the big issue here! That's why I'm posting this!

i know the rider you speak of, saw it unfolding. He is one of the most experienced riders (even doing the full AMA season for a couple years now) and i was not really sure what he was thinking. Maybe it was an issue that he thought would clear up and the bike would take off again.. Very odd for sure. If he was being given the black flag or a rolled up rain flag that a c.w. points at him then signals to pull off he should have pulled off, no question. (sorry buddy, if there was a good reason let us know?

Riders that disregard a debris flag waveoff by cornerworkers should be told their weekend is done (or one very large fine). I've seen it a number of times where the rider has a problem with their bike (wheter smoking, dangling bodywork, helmet unstrapped, etc) just acknowlegde us by nodding, but kept going around and around.

Couple years ago we had to shut the track down for 2 hours to clean up oil from t5-T7 at BHF because some retread didnt obey a wave off by a cornerworker until his bike started spewing oil everywhere.

i split a oil cooler at the end of the front straight at roebling one year i was so glad the saw it and put the flag out if not i'd been toast.  and who wants to ride around all race wondering if your going to get  violated.

So here's the predicament:
You get a standing yellow at start finish so you know there's a waving yellow at T1.  You continue to accelerate to a GPS measured 167mph and you see the waving yellow in T1 and one of the race leaders putting around at 30mph - and at the time he was a race leader.  You do the only thing you can do, you pass him. Do you now have to slow down and give the spot back?  You GUESS that he was the reason for the waving yellow and continue only to pass him AGAIN in T3 with him on the racing line.  Then you pass him AGAIN in T9.  Do you know anymore if the next waving yellow is for a crash or for the racer who (temporarily) lost his head?

I can almost understand riding slowly to the pits.  I can almost understand CCS letting the rider go more than three corners at that slow speed before throwing the red flag.  But as soon as it was evident he did not pit in the first time by, the race should have been red flagged before he got to the start/finish.  Why?  For the same reason you would in any other situation - a bike or rider in the track that you can't safely move off.

There were two errors: the rider's and the Race Director's.

That weekend was kinda screwy anyway in my opinion. I wasn't even on the grid for two of my races and had to end up lining up on the front row - 5 wide!!! Not a very organized event, again, my opinion.
