Is there going to be a solo challenge this year ?  Whats the rule change the mailer is talking about ? And looking at the TC pre-entry form there is no solo class?  What did I miss ?

The way I read it, you can now compete in TC solo.
That is within the class your bike fits into.

I thought it was the following:
If the entire team can't make it, a rider can ride the entire TC event by himself as a solo and it would count for the team.

So did they combimine the TC and Solo's all into 1 thing?

looks like the solo class is eliminated alltogether now by reading the rulebook, if your riding solo you just ride in your bike classification. they took out the mandatory rider change and added a pit stop requirement under green flag conditions. Only it isnt spelled out what is considered a pit-stop. It doesnt say mandatory refuel, so I guess a stop and go would suffice.

Hmmm,if all this is true it has me rethinking of racing this year somewhat instead of not...

I may as well jump in on this thread.  You all know I do the trophies for CCS, so I have the inside scoop.

I have good news and bad news.

The good news first ..

SOLO RIDERS => go to the Podium if you win 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Race!!  Now you can win that covetted trophy cup as a solo rider!

The bad news is ..
Only 1 plaque for 1st, 2nd and 3rd per class will be awarded in Team Challenge this year. (previously it was 2, but changed because solo riders are in the mix now)

AND REMEMBER - if you ride Solo, you only need one transmitter.  True Teams need 2 (if they're riding in CCS or ASRA races too)

And .. finally .. DON'T FORGET TO SWING BY TECH to see if you're needed for Post-Race Tech .. BEFORE  you go to your pit

Looking forward to Daytona !

why the need for 2 transponders for Team  Challenge and CCS as the races don't take place at the same time?

The TC transmitter is for the Bike.  The riders need their own transmitter for their individual CCS races.
