Mid-Ohio gearing?

Can anybody give me some idea of how to gear my bike for Mid-Ohio?  Would gearing that was good for Heartland Park and Blackhawk Farms be OK or will I be seriously short geared?

Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

Hey George,

Have never been there myself, either, but have asked around a bit.  The recommendations I've gotten range from slightly longer that BHF gearing to close to Road America gearing.  I think I'm going to start with HPT gearing, and then adjust as required.

BTW, I'll let you know when I get a garage assignment for Mid-Ohio.  I sent the form in awhile ago, but haven't heard anything yet.

Sounds like 15-46 or 45 for a SS SV.  Comments?  faxed in my pre-reg. last night.  Had a faster day @ BHF yesterday as evidenced by tire wear and body condition this morning.  Lost 3-4 lbs of body weight yesterday!!

George, I'll be running RA gearing on the Monsters; otherwise, you run out of gear on the straight and have to choose between overrev or losing ground. I was one tooth off (shorter than RA gearing) when I went there a coupla weeeks ago and it didn't seem like it was geared too tall in the tight stuff.

BTW, I have your electrical splitters. Sorry I didn't call, it's not like you live a mile from me. Oh, wait....

Anyone from the MA region know if the straight at Ohio is shorter or longer than VIR or Summit?

I'd guess it's a little shorter than VIR, but not much.  I would say going with VIR gearing would be a good start.
